Monsters need to get smarter to counter some builds we players use. There are a few examples i can give. Just like the scale system work in this game with monsters, they either get higher level, more skills or better stats.

What if monsters got new skills depending what build we are using, for example: I’m a zerker warrior and burst the enemy, the enemy notice i hit really hard so he gains a new skill that reflects 50% the damage back to the attacker for 3 seconds.

Or i am a defensive built character with a lot of health, armor and heal. The monster recognizes this and gains a skill that hit very hard while reducing defensive stats for a few seconds.

This would be a good counter mechanic for monsters and it would actually make the game more difficult for everyone with different builds. So whatever build you’re using, you will have to be careful.

I think a better idea, would be to just give all monsters ways to counter easy tactics. Give monsters a way to knock away players that stack on top of them, or a ranged pull attack to reach players that are out of reach (or on higher ground). And allow them to retreat if they can’t reach a player, instead of making them go invulnerable and regenerating.

This also belongs in the dungeons section.

Btw very smart move on moving the zerker discussion there (dungeon section). Because that’s where it belongs. And it is directly tied to the OP’s post. His suggestion obviates the need for any changes to the zerker meta.

I guess this is slowly gonna happen. Look at those nightmare sylvaries from scarlet and the krait tower event. You know what I mean – I dunno how they are called inenglish :P

Except the annoying death they act pretty smart, they even dodge. Some more skills would be great in general yes.

I agree, and not just for Dungeons (hence, I am happy that it’s in the “general” forum.)

Monsters need to be a bit smarter, not just “healthier” or higher burst damage. I wouldn’t even mind an AI where mobs can call others to heal them or support with buffs. I would like to see more with the “downed” condition as well, and have any other mob in the area rush to heal them. Hard content should be hard, not just zergable.

The way things are now, a difficult mob or boss can be overcome quite easily by numbers. I would rather see them strong enough that numbers aren’t as important as tactics.

You know dungeons aren’t the only place with enemy mobs, right?
