so i watched the Guild Chat Twitch Stream and was very hyped about the Snowflake Aura that is shown at ~35 min (http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/v/29407369)

As i wanted to use it with my Santa char that i play a lot during Wintersday where i send gifts with Wintersday related items to random people

but then i saw the aura is applied by a Shoulderarmorpiece (like Nightfury) and therfor only usable on armor but doesnt work with outfits…
I could make an acceptable look for Santa with real armor but that one definitly needs a certain shoulderpiece so not even that works for me…

I already dont have use for Nightfury because of this problem since all my
scary / dark armorlooks that would have use for Nightfury also require a shoulderpiece to really look good…

Anet you are really making me sad when you continue this “shoulderpiece-aura” thing
because you are forcing me to look worse without the shoulderpiece just to get the aura… or you dont let me have the aura at all if i want it on outfit

So i thought of possible solutions for this problem and i hope Anet will do one of those:

1) make it a backpiece instead (so it can be used with outfits)

2) give us recipe to craft the shoulderpiece into a backpiece (people who want shoulderpiece can keep it and people who are happier with backpiece can have that instead)

3) give us a merchant to exchange the shoulderpiece into an orb like the Poly-luminescent orbs so i can use the Aura without having to equip any other Armorpiece and can have it on outfits too

4) make that merchant also exchange it into an infusion with the effect just like ghostly infusions

i think the last 2 possible solutions would be the best ones as people could use the aura no matter what they actually want:
if they dont need shoulderpiece they can just chose to not show shoulderarmor
if they want to use it with outfit it works too with this solution
if they want a specific other shoulderpiece they can still have the aura but also that shoulderpiece
and people can chose to have it either for exotic gear (like polyorbs) or for ascended gear (like ghostly infusions)

having Orbs or Infusions giving the Auras is just a much much better solution than having an armorpiece giving the Auras for the reasons listed above
So i hope Anet doesnt continue with this “Shoulderpiece -Aura” thing but instead makes new Auras be related to Orbs and Infusions

so pleeease please consider introducing a merchant that exchanges the shoulderpiece for an Orb / Infusion with the same effect!

Now if you find the time to give us an option to exchange the exotic orb for an infusion with the same effect that would be epic
so we don’t have to carry an extra exotic trinket just for the aura

because lets be serious… almost every player who is actively playing GW2 has at least some ascended trinkets and veteran players usually have full ascended trinkets on every char since they are so easy to get^^

Actually, I think what you are looking at is the bugged queen bee – it got turned into a winter orb. It doesn’t really work right either, at least not for my toons – just gives fog and no snow.

Gonna be a lot of upset people who paid over 800g for the winter aura and who wind up with bees when they correct this!!!

do you mean that all bee queens got turned into a Winter’s Presence?
Or how do i have to understand that

And when looking at the effect on your chars
did you have
Animations + Shaders + Post Processing
all set to high to make sure it just doesnt show because one of those is missing?

That’s what I mean alright. My preserved queen bee is now a winter’s presence. And, yeah I have them all at high but there is some really weird bug going on because even when I took the item off the fog stayed (over my head instead of on my body) and no matter what I do I can’t get rid of it. Logged out multiple times and still there.

i guess those Winter’s Presence orbs will be turned back to Preserved Queen Bee Orbs
and people who just bought it because they thought it was the Snowflake Aura in Orb version might be able to get a refund or get the trade undone somehow…

But i have hope at least now since it seems like they wanted to make an orb version of the Snowflake aura shoulders

Let’s just hope for an official info (and maybe fix) on this soon

I’d also like this done with the Nightfury shoulders. Why do it for only one of these types of shoulders?

I would rather have them make a separate tab in the hero panel as “Auras”
where we could pick the bat ,snowfall or legendary effects
