So, I just met Deirdre and her Steps.
Oh god yes! I loved this when I stumbled upon it. It was so much fun. I especially liked the addition of the diving goggles at the high places for jumping off them. I think it would have been mildly frustrating for me had there not been several people running around attempting it because I fell off the tree a couple times and rezing and finding my way back would have been difficult. But otherwise it was awesome fun!
Many kudos ANET!
Seriously one of the most gorgeous areas I’ve ever seen in a MMO. The whistling of the wind at the top is an amazing touch.
Yeah. I completely agree Shred. I was silently wishing for Vistas just to get panning shots. Great ‘special’ zone!
If you like that it had a theme behind it, you should check out the pirate one in Lion’s Arch .. no spoilers, but you may enjoy that one too. Google it if you want to know where to start.
Also any hints on where to get this one? Would love to go check it out .. even just the zone would be fine.
Yeah I’ve done the one in Lion’s Arch. That one reminded me of Goonies. Loved it. As to where to go… head to Mount Maelstrom. It's queued by a dynamic event.
Thank you hon!
My only gripe was the lack of a way in without killing one of the mobs, I didn’t die in there but I just enjoy the area in general and would have liked a way in

it’s one of my favorite places. mount maelstrom was already my favorite map in the game, this new puzzle only made it better.
hey look, i’m an absolutely beautiful studio ghibli-esque jumping puzzle.
i do it not for the chest, but for the spectacular views.
bravo.
This whole area reminded me of the original Tomb Raider on the venerable PS1. Spotting a likely route, scanning around trying to see where it led, then taking the first steps. Looking across the land from the top of the tree was stunning, one of the most amazing areas I’ve seen so far.
I’d love to see some of the basic abilities from TR implemented if possible, hanging from ledges, climbing on vines/ladders/etc. would add a whole new dimension to the concept of jumping puzzles.

I stumbled into this area last night and hung around for about 2 hours. (I’ve never met a mysterious portal I wasn’t willing to go through). At first it was just myself and another player and neither of us had any clue what was going on – we got to the hardest jumping part and both fell and died. Luckily, another player had shown up and revived us. I stuck around to help the second player through (and make sure someone was around to revive him if he tripped) and had a blast.
By the way, I LOVE DIVING GOGGLES!

Found it last night.
This was definitely one of the best ones I’ve done, and I’ve done nearly all of them. The designer really needs a commendation for it.
