Get my bloodlust sigils out of my WvW bought weapons? Apparently, not even black lion salvage kits won’t work. I also have a ton of armor that I bought using tokens and karma. Can’t salvage those either. I’m not going to buy one of those extractors as one cost 25G, way more than a bloodlust sigil.

But seriously, am I missing something? Are there ever going to be plans to change this in the future? I’m not kidding when I say almost everything I have has been bought with karma or WvW badges.

I’m the same way I always buy the karma gear form WvW when lvling my chars. but I don’t think there is a way.

OMG, I just realized I have 2 travelers runes in my ele gear I need to get. Like, I don’t even care if I destroy the gear, I just want the runes. They’re worth 13G.

Yeah, um previously, I used to use transmutation stones to move an expensive rune to a new piece of gear. Now, I’m realizing, since most of my gear is WvW bought, I can’t do that anymore. I’m really kinda screwed. Fore example, I have an ascended headgear that I was about to use, but I want to get my Melandru rune out of my exotic and put it in the new Ascended piece. Can’t do that. I’d have to buy a new Melandru rune. They’re super expensive. I mean, was this a plan to get us to spend more gold?

To me this is an oversight on Anet’s part with the removal of the transmutation stones. It’d be pretty ridiculous to expect to have to buy the upgrade extractors to remove the rune. Fun times for spikes in melandru rune prices..

I mean, I know why they don’t allow it. They don’t want people to buy a bunch of Karma gear or WvW gear, use BLKs on them, and sell the leftovers. But at this point, is that really going to screw up the economy? I’ve been sitting on between 3-4 million karma for the last year or so. I buy a few obsidian shards now and then. So what If I want to spend my karma to make a little gold. I mostly WvW, and trust me, we don’t get nearly enough badges to do any harm to the economy.

I sure as hell am not going to buy any runes that are 10+ gold because of this screw up. Hopefully Anet sees this as something to fix asap.

Nothing yet? I just realized that since I need to revamp my ele since boon duration got nerfed, I need to get some expensive runes, but wait, I can’t easily get a whole new set of gear with Karma, cause I’d be an idiot to put 60 G worth of runes in karma gear right now.

Please come up with a solution to this.

I really hope they don’t consider upgrade extractor a viable option for these situations… that item is 200% useless. (that is not a math error – it is literally more than twice as good to buy new runes/sigils than one upgrade extractor)

100% this. wvw stuff comes without runes or sigils. I have to buy the upgrade, why can’t I just get it back if I salvage it with a black lions kit? it’s slightly different for karma gear, because it already comes with a rune in it, so it would have an impact on the economy but I don’t get why it’s impossible on wvw gear.

I had a bloodlust sigil on a wvw pistol I couldn’t salvage to get back. I ticketed it but they didn’t care and told me to buy a transmutation splitter. I told them they should really change that or add a warning on the items themselves. Don’t see why they aren’t salvageable when you spend gold+badges for them. That is enough of a price to allow salvaging.

I eventually wasted a tranny on skinning it to a salvageable weapon and got sigil back but I don’t think that’s possible anymore. Really, how is anyone supposed to know w/o actually being informed by another player or upon attempting to salvage the first time after already buying it?

Here’s an idea. Why don’t you guys figure out a way to salvage WvW items and get badges back. If we salvage karma gear, we get karma back. Yeah, we’d get the rune, so the prices of Melandru will tank, but so what. Runes of Strength have skyrocketed. But please fix this. I have so many 2 handed weapons with bloodlust sigils, etc.

Actually, maybe that’s not a good idea. That sounds too complicated. Just let us salvage this gear for crying out loud.
