Yeah, that’s wrong. Lydia is sworn to carry my burdens.

Perhaps this Lydia has been taking your wallet at night to remove cash. Better sleep with one eye open to check.
ANet may give it to you.

ROFL, touché. I’ll remember to add that addendum from now on: “unless Lydia hasn’t yet activated a draugr trap.”

no food? bad skins? dont even have all invent bags? I’ll call this another PS fake SS what it is, FAKE…
FYI if you really wanted to prove it all you need to do now is post your account API code so people can check https://gw2efficiency.com/account/bank
Thats the only way to prove 100% this is not another photoshop (that I’ve seen 100s of by now)..
Gw2efficiency shows the top person they have on their listing as having:
741,257gold 85 silver
Played for 8,592 hours
Number 15 is listed as
217,085 gold 40 silver
Played for 3,718 hours
Edit: I misread it. That’s account value not raw gold.
Looks like highest liquid gold is
214,748 gold 36 silver
Played for 10,374 hours
ANet may give it to you.

That’s what I was thinking. I did some quick math, and this person could afford 336,194 gems with that much gold. That is enough gems to buy literally everything in the market several times over.
Two people have above 200k golds and they don’t make a thread for it.

Good for them man.
The easiest way to get rich in GW2 is to never spend any gold. After playing 10k hours you will easily have 100k raw gold on your hands that way.
With trading those 100k gold could easily be 500k gold.

I excluded options like convertig gems to gold or extra accounts since that obviously skews the results. I think it costs less than 10k USD to buy 100k gold with gems to gold option at the moment which is a pocket change for plenty of people. If you have disposable income and value your time trading gems for gold is obviously the best way to get gold. Farming gold yourself means you value your time at only like 1 USD per hour.

Having a easy income of 1500 gold or so a month also means it’s easy to say things like, “don’t spend gold and you’ll be rich.” Easy to say but not really useful to tell people to not spend gold in a cosmetics based game.

I’m not surprised at all that you think 10k USD is pocket change.

I feel bad for anyone who can just kitten away $10k and can’t think of anything better to do with it than buy currency in some online game.
Here are some interesting screen caps from GW2E regarding account gold. The last image is an extension of the second one. It scrolls right so I could not screen cap it all in one.

Some bankers, sports personalities, entertainers and businessmen will pay $10,000 plus on a ‘good night out’. ‘Investing’ that sort of money in a game would be relatively cheap for them.

People with that kind of money play better video games

You mean other MMOs where they are subject to constant gear loss and even more competition? Somehow I’d think that people with these kind of jobs will likely:
- play games to unwind with as little stress/work as possible (got enough of that at their job)
- have very little time to commit to actually playing
- mibght enjoy a cosmetic endgame and the ability to save time with $$$ → gem → gold trade
Not that many MMOs meet those criteria. No reason to sell GW2 short in this respect.
If you just zoom in a bit you can see the 92 is pasted on top and a different colour..
i’m not surprised. even a laid back casual player like me have 8k gold and 8 legendaries, surely there are hard core power traders with hundreds K of gold…

Liquid gold is if you liquidated everything you could. The highest straight up gold is 120k or something.
It’s interesting to note over the last few weeks the guy on gw2efficiency with the most account value has gone up from ~520k to 700k+ without his hours played changing at all. Guess he has some nice stuff hoarded!

You’re probably right about the liquidity, however I’m not sure the gw2efficiency is accurate right now. I’m getting some strange numbers. It’s showing (on my iPad at least) that I have over 5000 gems when I know I have about 3500. And the gold in my wallet isn’t showing correctly when I switch to a different filter. It shows correctly one place then less than half as much when I go to the leaderboard and set it for gold in wallet.
ANet may give it to you.

Hey mate,
you made me curious.
Just checked my ACC and behold: from 9k to nearly 15k worth. I think it has to do with skin prices though. I did not play more either, nor , as the rather low acc worth of mine shows, do i play to farm.
Interestingly enough my pocket change is 6g right now, Mats in vault accumulate to 30ish g.
I think the price drop of many Skins lead to an increases distribution\stock of those. The skin prices have since increased and now more of the Skins increase the overal ACC value rapidly.
I may be totally wrong though
92k gold in gonna be what we all have soon with the 200g+ you get from AB farm ;=)

Might be a bit buggy but it’s also slow to update individual things like gems, gold, etc.

I’ve had 3500 gems for a couple of weeks now, so that can’t be it.

The way I see it is, if you want to get rich, you’ve got to stop doing the fun things in the game.
