ANet changed the norn/fish/kodan in to a single timed event that doesn’t seem to come up very often…it essentially kills the FS train as it was, unless a new order can be devised.

Essentially they all come up at the same time and you have 10 minutes to do all 3.

Pretty sure the Queensdale train is still chugging down the tracks, as I spent an hour or two doing it today to finish off my Monthly. =)

Queens is still going, seems there is some confusion about including the bandit now that the spider has been removed…but it’ll be fine for now. Not gonna get much T6 from Queens though.

Losing the spider really did not change the train on Queensdale very much. Our server now does the bandit instead.

Queensdale train lives and is running the same as always. The train that players kittened and whined about the most, wanted eradicated and gloated the patch had “killed” was literally not affected. Many players skipped the Spider pre-patch to begin with because it went down too fast.

The train that almost no one complained about in FGS for higher level toons was destroyed though – that’s some backwards logic at work, Anet. Nuke the one no one had an issue with, force everyone to run the train that kittened off half the player base.

Be careful what you wish for next time, anti-train folks!

The fgs train, in my opinion, got better. Fish, Norn and kodan got grouped up in 1 event in which you get a bonus chest for killing all 3 in the time limit. You still get the champ boxes for all 3 as well. The timer on the event seems to be just about right to run the rest of the train a second time before it pops. So the order that worked for a group of about 10 tonight was:

Triple threat (fish, Norn and kodan)
Wurm
Drake (and quaggan if up)
Troll
Wurm
Drake (and quaggan if up)
Troll
Triple threat

The focus should be on making sure to get a decent jump on the triple threat timer. The bonus chest is, well, a bonus. So if you run the 2 circuits and triple threat hasn’t started, hang out at fish and work on your inventory for a minute so you don’t lose a lot of your time on a third run.

Since all of them are now events, it seems to me that anet is trying to get higher level toons to spend more time in higher level areas by rewarding the FGS train.

I do not take responsibility if the timers are changed. Just wanted to give info on how it worked for a relatively small group tonight.

People just didn’t do the math yet.
Sure, you are still able to run in circles in Queensdale.
The point is, it is not really worth it.
An event yields some 80 copper, a champ bag doesn’t yield much either.
In Queensdale, you mainly get white champ bags, some greens, hardly any exo bags.
Queensdale was only worth it because of the obscene amount of gold generated by bags and events. Now, if these sources of money are only slightly decreased(and the spider falls out of the window), you are essentially paying a way point to get your money back, pay the next waypoint to get your money back and pay the next waypoint to get your money back.
All you get are some green items, some mats, some bloodstone dust, some xp and some karma. You never get much net money out of it, cause the waypoint costs remain the same.
Frostgorge, on the other hand, got the events reinstalled. You’d need to do some reshuffling of the train order, but you now get some xp, karma and money from the associated events.
In my book, that speaks in favor of FGS, you just gotta figure out a new order.

The only crime, turrets committed, is being good against the celestial meta.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.

A lot of people used Queensdale to help level — as a nice casual run that’s fun for a couple or three or fou rounds.

Funny, I got many more exotic Champ bags in Queensdale than white ones. I guess mileage varies.

You can also include the Giant Ooze between Drake and Troll, especially if a mesmer portals the group.

I also just followed a champ train in Cursed Shore which had great loot from many champions and mobs.

FGS champ train would be a more laid back and safe one, and the Cursed Shore one is much more dynamic with no downtime and you actually see people dieing around you.
What server is the Orr train being run on?
It was on Gandara (EU), the commander leading the train has left since. I guess it shouldn’t take long before other servers do them (if it isn’t already the case) and more commanders lead the way.
Is there a map for WPs and such?
Not to my knowledge, the rotation consists of 3/4 champions plus additional ones spawning during certain events. I can’t give you more info as I just discovered it today.

Why not running around cursed shore, where most events actually spawn several champions when there are a lot of people around, and you can do the cursed shore champ circuit while waiting for more events.
