I just did the one in EB and didn’t see my badges go up in my collection. Is this intended or a bug?

That’s interesting. I haven’t tried doing a jumping puzzle in any of the battlegrounds yet but I have heard a lot of feedback asking for jumping puzzles to not be tied into WvW. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did in fact remove badges from jumping puzzle chests.

I hope it’s just a bug. I like that there are multiple ways to get things in game.

I can attest to this bug. I have done the WvW JPs on green/blue/red side respectively, and I only received my usual random siege plans / vendor trash, but zero badges. I haven’t done EB JP yet, but I will update and post a screen cap if it happens in there.

I did the Green Borderlands JP on Yaks Bend and didn;t get any Badges either. Didn’t think about it until I read this.

Doesn’t matter if it was an intended fix or not. The issue is, I should still get receive my badges if there wasn’t no listed “fix” within the patch notes stating that doing WvW JP’s will no longer reward players badges of honor.

Below are two screenshots of myself not receiving badges from WvW chest’s. First one is from EB, and the second one is from Emerald Sanctum.

Hopefully, it is a bug like when they removed orichalcum ores at one point. I see no reason for BoH’s to be removed from the chests.

this is a bad change

now they dont come in wvw ANYMORE and dont have to fight for the badges in the puzzle at least!!!

because in pve you can get a lot of achievement points and you will get several thousand badges just from the achievement chests so noone ever needs to go to wvw for badges

On one hand, i would say its nice if badges no longer drop from JPs. theres no more need for ppl unskilled in pvp to be utter cannon fodders for campers who take the best ground against the worst players in pvp. On the other hand, why do the JP anyways? The loot is hardly superb. and most of the blueprints arent that hard to get anyways. (i like doing the puzzle anyhow, badges or not)

I keep a stack of siege plans of 10x each for those “just in case moments”, plus it’s free siege. Anything free is good. Sometimes if a commander asks in map chat if anyone would like to donate siege, most likely I throw a couple of my extra plans their way, since they’re the ones leading us to victory – so to speak, and are normally the ones that spend siege out of their own coin. I would like to think some PvErs do the JPs in order to get the free siege and donate to their guild members / commanders who actually spend most of their time in WvW.

What gripes me is that when I did OS (it was empty when I did it at the time) there was no badges. Imagine being on a server who isn’t so lucky and getting camped within OS, only to finally reach the chest on top and find out all your measly work is just for an arrow cart or flame ram blue print + 2 -3 random greens, and some crappy coin. If that’s the case, there would be no incentive to actually go inside OS – except to JP grief/deny the people wanting to get the chest up top, since most of the blueprints are dirt cheap.

It isn’t a nerf, probably a bug or oversight. In fact, I ran it yesterday and thought the same thing. Great, here we go again with the company messing with PvP when I didn’t get them. Then I thought to myself that maybe they went into the wallet but didn’t display (which while a silly bug we’d still get them). I ran out of time to do a wallet check before, and after run with the other JP’s out in the WvW area.

“IF” this is intended then this instance / JP is worthless and should be removed. They have already nerfed and/or adjusted it so that it is no longer fun. It is a instance (good or bad, no matter), removed the placement of siege, and pretty much left unattended since beta (meaning there is nothing in there). It is really nothing more than a long run to a chest.

Remove it. You know you want to. PvE is winning the content push anyway whereas WvW gets Jack. And if you really think on it with nothing in there nor badges you have a couple traps in there in which you can do what? Grief people until they leave?

What do you accomplish by that when they can buy siege off the TP anyway. Point being, there isn’t any reason for this to exist now when you gain nothing. NO faster exp, No increase in T6 or other mats. No gain on the battlefield.

Good. If you’re not willing to WvW then you don’t deserve badges. It’s a shame that you got a ton with achievements too, kind of defeats one of the ‘rewards’ of participating in WvW.

I like donating siege to commanders as well; or just dropping it where they need it on the rare occasions that I do follow the commander. And I also like doing OS and the other wvw puzzles. Back before achievement chests, I got my Gift of Battle for Juggernaut by jumping the 3 BL puzzles on a daily basis, plus joining the zerg. But if the badges are removed, then what incentive do I have for jumping those puzzles anymore? My monthly is done, I only have 6 more puzzles to jump to complete the jump puzzle category. I do puzzles for the achievement but in the case of the wvw ones it was nice to get a reward for something I would otherwise not like to do: join the zerg and put my pve based combat skills against people who love pvp style combat and become someone’s free loot bag over and over and over and….

I know a lot of people are already annoyed that WvW maps are required for world completion and the Gifts of World Exploration for legendaries. I’d be pleased as heck if the badges were taken out of the achievement chests entirely and it went back to jump puzzles to get the badges again. Just my opinion. /shrug

So ironic seeing people claim that OS is some kind of escape from WvW, when some of the best PvP experience I had was there.

With all of the traps and different tactics people can and will use against you, it is more strategy oriented than the actual WvW of this game.

Alliances are more often forged and individual player skill means a whole lot more, because you can’t hide behind a zerg as almost everyone else does in WvW.

Taking away badges from this JP will essentially kill it and drive the PvP players away entirely. I hope the developers don’t listen to the WvW players who are insecure about their inability to succeed at JP.

I’m assuming the OP checked that…? Because yes, currently the currencies go straight to your wallet, not your inventory.

It might not have occured to the OP to check…because we’re used to seeing the badges, not just having them added in. I wouldn’t have thought to check personally.

I did check my wallet before and after the puzzle, and before and after doing one of the other BL ones. No change each time. The other people who were with me also reported no change.

Which again raises the question – wth do they intend to do with the already broke puzzle. There is now, officially, ZERO reason to go in there…and it was already that bad to begin with.

Either make it have risk and reward or just gut it already. If you don’t know how go play on any of the private DaOC servers, enter Darkness Falls, and learn for Pete’s Sake!

For me the JP was a way to get a few badges when there was nothing else to do win WvW. (As an ET player, I’m rather used to our server being stomped over, so it’s not all that super uncommon to log on and see that there’s basically no even fights to be had.)

I couldn’t get 500 dungeon tokens from WvW.

I had to do PvE to get my legendary. Your argument is invalid.
