If I’m not doing anything else at that moment, I try to appreciate others’ gear. I even screen cap the real good ones. And much like several above, I like a good looking mix’n’match better than anything that serves only to point out that you grind dungeons. Put some character in you character, man!

That being said, I basically just WvW, with some light PvEing on the side. I’ve been playing since launch, and there’s at least one whole zone I hadn’t even heard of until yesterday. So needles to say, I’m not exactly an RPer.

I’ve had a few people come and get my picture taken.. I more people do take the time to look at other’s armors than we think.. I am a big gw2 fashion fan that I regularly check out people’s outfits instinctively.

Of course! I spend a great deal of effort picking a style for my characters, it’s only natural that I will also check out my peers. A good mix’n’match will beat almost any full set hands down, and I’ve seen some good combos. Also seen some really bad combos, and also some very plain sets ([cough] CoF [/cough]).

If something really catches my eye or its an uncommon setup I do.

I find a lot of the time its just the same gear I’ve seen over and over. I guess thats the problem with not having too many armor skins at the moment.

Yes, and I’m planning to have a costume contest in LA at some point.

So many female humans (medium armor) with T3 cultural. Despite the high price, it feels like the majority is using it

To be fair if you picked a medium armor class and want something even remotely revealing that’s pretty much your only option.

Although I’m sure a lot choose it entiely because it’s expensive.

No, I don’t care what I or others look like really…at high resolution everything but Norns are pretty much too small to see real well without zooming in a lot anyhow.

Though I ended up making my necro look really cool, that was more by accident than design though. Also she’s a gigantic Norn so you can actually see her stuff.

Yes, I look at armor. However, I don’t usually have much of an opportunity as the only time one has to pay attention is if someone is standing at the bank or is afk.

Only time I really look at armor is when I’m in LA. An even then, only if it’s a mixed set. I know most sets/colours by now, so only a mixed one will make me notice something is different and really pay attention

That being said, I only pick armor that I like. No point playing something I think is hideous just to be aesthetically pleasing to somebody else for a second or two.

Only if I notice something different or odd then I might check it out otherwise the armor in GW2 is ho-hum at best.

I’ve gotten several compliments on my armor so I’m sure there are a lot of people out there who check these things out… honestly I don’t put much effort into looking at other people’s armor unless its something that really catches my eye or its something just ridiculous looking because as stated before with everything being so crowded in towns and such it makes it a little more difficult to check peoples armor sets and stuff out.

I LOOK @ MYSELF, cuz i’m sexy and i know it! wiggle ….ya anyway.

Yeah, I check out players all the time. For the most part, seems that players mix and match as much as I do. Personally, I have a few sets for each of my 80’s depending on how I’m feeling (same stat sets) or for what I’m doing (perhaps a different stat set) like WvW, changing builds. And if I’m not there, certainly working towards it.

The colors I choose for my characters make sense for what I believe makes them who they are. Something about an thief in bright colors just doesn’t ring true to me, so I’ll deck him out in black, purple, dark greens, smokey ash or blues. One of my sylvari has blue skin, so I go with colors that fit that. I also go with colors that may perhaps fit the class. My Mesmer wears purples, pinks and blues. He is of noble blood, so it fits his character doubly.

I also personally disagree with a few posters here about black and white, to me, some armor pieces just happen to look great dyed those colors. And when using black or white with other colors, it really makes those other colors pop.

As for weapons, they too have to fit my various looks. Problem I have with this game in weapon selection is that many of them have these weird shapes or subjectively unpleasing ornaments attached. My taste may just not be everyone else’s, in fact, I’m sure of it. I miss many of the nice weapons they had in GW1 shape design wise. Even the basic katana or the platinum blade would be better for my style than some of the current selection of swords. Dagger wise, wish they would bring in some elven style fantasy blades, some talons from GW1 had a nice arcing shape. I would just like to forget the plethora of Rambo knives.

To be honest I rarely notice what other werars. Mostly because I focus on the foes I’m attacking, my own hero and my skillbar. And sometimes when I manage to see it’s just short asuras that I can barely see what they wear.

But sometimes I can check a little and I’m “alright”. but I couldn’t really care less for what others wears as long as I’m satisfied wiht my own gear.

Rarely do I look at people’s armors. There are only a few good looking ones out there thus everyone has the same armors but just a couple different combinations.
