Honestly not sure what Anet was thinking when they made this ability because its basically an instant win button anytime I’m fighting as/against a Mesmer. It bugs me because my friend who plays Mesmer acts all high and mighty since hes ‘the 1v1 god’ even though I destroy him whenever his Moa isn’t up.

Question is how do I counter it? If such thing exists.

dodge after you notice the casting animation for all classes.

There are actually many more counters to it depending on the class e.g. mist form for elementalist

You can run. Moas I think are slightly faster and their whole team will have to focus you down to kill you (in which case you’d already be dead). The real benefit of moa morph is that it takes a member out of a team fight for 10 seconds. However the cooldown is so high that it ends up being not too great. Still way better than crap Ele ults though.

I will agree it’s just not a well designed skill however. It has ruined the fun of many a fight for me by providing a convenient reset button for mesmers (not too different from thief stealth in that respect).

Moa is useless now.

or block with a warrior, hell if you have reflection trated you tern them into a moa insted

Cant’ reflect spells Underdog..

Learn to use Death Shroud.

Press skill 5 when u are moa’d. You can tell the mes is casting it cause it has like 2 second cast time so just los or dodge and it will make the spell go on cooldown

There’s a dodge button in this game. Judging from the performance of most players they don’t realize this button exists.
