So many Tomes of Knowledge...
Right now I’m sitting on 90 Tomes of Knowledge, 80 level 80 characters, 4 of which, have been leveled through the tomes.
I’m guessing you mean 8 characters.
Make them tradeable so people like you can give me tomes so I can finally level a warr or an ele.
You don’t have 80 characters LOL
Making tomes tradable might be a good solution. The only issue is if the price goes down too fast (if they drop too often), it might overshadow all other available leveling solutions.

That’s right. Maybe if you could fuse several tomes together into a tradeable version, but that won’t happen. That in itself would discourage exploration, which would reduce the maps’ population and I don’t think ANET would like that after going through the trouble of implementing the Megaservers.
Making tomes of knowledge tradable would hurt PvP. Not to mention all the little kids who use their mom’s credit card would just buy gold and level their character to 80 on their first day of playing. The only way I could see tomes of knowledge becoming tradable is if there are a number of restrictions. For example, the user must have a minimum of 4 level 80s (by that time you’d already be a master crafter), and if you could only gain a maximum of 30 levels from purchased tomes of knowledge.
I’d love to be able to sell tomes.
In my case it’s the opposite reason – I make alts to play through the personal story and PvE so I have no need for the tomes because I don’t need to level them up before using them.
But the end result is the same, I have a pile sitting in my bank which will probably never get used. (Along with those level 20 scrolls, I think I’ve used 1 of them though.)
I don’t care if they’re worth practically nothing, I just don’t like deleting them when I know other people could use them.

I want tomes on wvw. The leveling the only reason why i have only 5 char slots…
Just the WvW

I would be OK with this system, except I don’t want to be in the group running dungeons with a bunch of 80s that have less than 1hr in-game time. That would be brutal lol.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Make it a 6 month account ownership requirement, leveling for me is just so tedious and I just eventually stop playing because i cannot be bothered doing the grind all over again. Sellable tomes etc would help alt a holics or people who need to switch classes again. Not like you learn your class lvling 1-80 anyways, upgrade armor every 10 lvls and spam 1. Wow I just learned my class!!! You actually don’t need to learn anything until 80 really. Chances of you getting an actual dungeon group are nil and dungeons are pointless anyways.

Good example of the wrong way to approach this game. For someone with the name Sunshine, I’m very disappointed.
Some people actually try to learn their class leveling up. Just because you can spam #1 skill to level doesn’t mean that’s what everyone is doing. 1-80 at the very least you can test weapon combinations and become proficient in them.
No joke I played with a Guardian the other day that didn’t know that the number 5 skill for GS pulls the mobs after you hit it again. He was 80. How did he level up you ask? EoTM exclusively with staff spamming #1 skill. He also had never equipped a shield, torch, or scepter. Ever. Not like you can’t quickly unlock those skills in a dungeon, but the point is he had no idea how to use them effectively. Sure, we can carry him through for the most part, but why?
Have you ever asked a player in a dungeon to equip a skill for a particular encounter and they just kinda freeze. Maybe give you the “uhm, hold on, that’s a utility skill right, I don’t think I have that unlocked.” Like ask an ele to drop FGS/IceBow or Wall of Reflection from a Guardian and they say they don’t have those skills. I mean….wut?

Learning your class isn’t about leveling up and getting comfortable about your skill/weapon sets… (although it plays a part)… its more so about tinkering with traits and figuring out what works well with what you are trying to do…learning BUILDS is more important..its pretty easy to learn what your weapon does..that just comes naturally.
Traits, that aspect, with this pathetic new trait unlock system, you can’t even try builds unless you want to pony up some money.. The fact some of these low lvl traits are locked behind high lvl area’s is just a kittenpoor planning by anet…you can’t say “i’m learning my class” when majority of the traits are locked behind such a shortsighted mechanic..
Allowing power leveling would be nice not that pay for somebody else to level your character. I mean say guild/friends want to help you level up a new character just meeting them in a level 80 zone to kill stuff mission or just scale xp up to level 80 for those people who are being power leveled in the zone. Just an idea or thought

Learning your class would be an issue if people could sell Tomes of Knowledge but then again, considering it bad for the community “skill” is a bit far fetched in my opinion.
I PvP for fun, the rewards are nice and I’m sure I’ll use all of the crafting materials, clovers and ascended crafting materials.
The ironic thing I no longer have a single use for is the Tomes of Knowledge and I will continue to gather the tomes as long as PvP stays fun.
Being able to sell them, would be so nice for me.
This could be seen as a pay to win, buying $50 worth of Gems, trade for gold, getting a level 80 character, fully decked in gear.
While other new players have to spend a week or month of playing to get to 80, another 2 weeks to get full exotic gear.
This could be seen as a pay to win, buying $50 worth of Gems, trade for gold, getting a level 80 character, fully decked in gear.
Which will become more expensive the more players do Gems → Gold because the more gems are converted, the less gold they’ll yield.

Which is good for other players wanting to spend gold for gems (which I do a lot)
