So much hate on GW2, I keep on loving it.
The rock on enjoying it.
Until you don’t.
GW2 is good that way.

it seems many like them better than the games they comment on.” -Horrorscope.7632
You’re not the only one who thinks that. Sadly, nothing is as op as the complainers on these forums, seeing that many dumb nerfs have happened thanks to them.

Yeah I will keep on playing it
Whenever I go on the forums, I find so many complaints about all the bad things in this game.
Things like:
• The way of ’’crafting’’ your precursor.
So, why is crafting in quotes? Do you think there’s a more accurate word for it than crafting?
Or do you think being able to craft them is a lie and we’re all hallucinating about it?

Apart from the entirely justifiable drop in HPs needed to cap elite .. 400 was crass .. what other ‘nerfs’ are you on about?

Well, I haven’t done it myself yet, haven’t looked much at it. I wasn’t sure that it really is crafting, thought that it went more through achievments, but guess that’s not the case. Guess you do the achievments in order to unlock the recipes and then you craft.
I get why they did the dungeon nerfs (sort of), but the fractal nerfs had no real reason behind them that I have ever seen stated.

I think because it’s mostly Mystic Forge stuff. I would also put craft in quotations when referring to things you put in MF. It’s not quite crafting, but also kind of is, if that makes sense. “Crafting” seems like a fair way to describe it.
It’s also more of a scavenger hunt than it is crafting.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
It has a collection with scavenger hunt qualities, yeah, but it involves recipes, having a crafting profession nearly maxed out, and actually, you know, crafting items.
It’s crafting.
The crafting being in quotes would make sense if you could make one without a single crafting profession on any of your characters and everything was done via the MF.
But it’s not like that.
Well, at least you acknowledge some things being potential problems, so it’s all good. The only time it’s bad is when one decide a problem isn’t theirs, thus it’s nobody’s. But for your own enjoyment, if the problems aren’t enough to affect you, then there really isn’t any.
So, enjoy your game and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

I’m going to take issue with the use of the word hate. Sure, words evolve over time, but hate should not be one of them. It has a pretty strong meaning which leaves little room for any other emotions.
I’m pretty sure that most of the criticism is from people who like the game in general but have some issue with an aspect they find unappealing. Now, I’ll grant you that there are some posters who loved the game, and for whom the relationship has soured to the point that their love for the game has turned to hate. They’re a tiny minority on these boards, though.
Yes there are problems, but don’t let that make you ignore all the great things that came out of HoT and will come out (i.e. raids). I’m loving it so far and have had an almost entirely bug-free experience. I also really appreciate that Anet has been working to fix things and it always makes me sad that the forums really don’t give them enough credit and attack anyone who tries.
You keep loving the game. The Devs are working hard to make it a positive experience for people and I’m glad that more people are enjoying it.

Yes I agree that hate is a bit harsh and too strong, but, I didn’t have enough sapce for my title, hate was one of the shorter words. I wanted to use a sentence with complaints, but I just couldn’t fit it in.
So it basically comes down to that I just should keep on playing it as long as I love and enjoy it hehe ;-) I wasn’t planning on quitting any time soon anyway. Good to see that there are plenty of people who also just love this game.
It’s entirely possible to hate individual pieces, processes, changes, or concepts without hating the whole of something. It doesn’t mean that someone who complains about parts of the game or changes in the game hates the entire game, nor does it mean that someone who loves and enjoys the game will never complain in the hope that improvement will be made.

Name one nerf that wasn’t done without someone complaining about it before hand. Name one.

Exodius, rock on man! Yes, things are chaotic right now, but with a little bit of positive thinking and a bumper sticker that reads “KEEP ON TRUCKIN!” ain’t no complaint on these forums that are gonna keep a good Charr down!
Keep the faith, man. Just gotta keep doin what we doin, and hope the Almight ANet sees the error in their ways and makes out path even brigher!
every day i log in i go to lion’s arch and i dance. i dance all day long for over 7+ hours straight and then i teleport to a random map. i come to the conclusion of which map to pick by swinging my head in big circles until i can barely breathe or see and then i just go for any asura waypoint i can make out through my hazy gaze and then i pass out and smack my skull hard against the big jagged rocks that i keep on the floor next to my desk and i gently drift off to sleep.
in the morning i enjoy the excitement of finding out which map i traveled too. from there, i head back to lion’s arch and repeat the cycle.
this is the only game where i can do that and still love doing it every single day of my life. i love you guild wars 2! (:
I’m fairly new to this game(bought it long time ago but only recently had a computer that could play it) and from reading these forums I kind of laugh because just about every other mmo I’ve played is about 10x worse in the ways people are complaining about. Although, I can see that making people passionate about not ruining something good. As a person that tends to sway between casual and hardcore depending on life I can say that this is easily the most fun mmo I’ve played with something for everyone and hope it continues to be popular.
This game gets a ridiculous amout of love, all the hate are on these forums.
Why do you think the devs post on Reddit?

Isn’t most of it collecting drops?
Only had a brief look, but it looked that way to me.
Not that I like crafting any better, but still.

They should post on here, whether it gets “hate” here, or not.
This is their forum.

I keep loving it, but some days there are times where I feel like I’m expected to be ashamed I love playing the game for a short burst of two to three hours after work to calm down.
Maybe because that’s all I really want out of the game, or its predecessor . . . not a way of life, but something to amuse myself with.
If I want something to sink a whole lot of time into, I got CBT and MTG.
Awesome to read all you posts So much positivity haha.
• The lack of background information / story about the Revenant.
If I had to guess, this will be one of those “mysteries” that ArenaNet promises will be explained “really soon” but never actually is.

True hehe… just like the idea / plan to kill Mordremoth, the idea like came out of nowhere.
Hi everybody!
I think each game has its weaknesses and strengths. Unfortunately the focus in forums like these semm to lay on the negative stuff… Guess a lot of casual gamers simply don´t care to share their opinion…
Personally i think GW2 is a great game and I enjoy HoT. If i´m fed up with leveling/gathering hero points – what´s the matter: no one forces me to play ;-) I simply quit or do somethign else ingame and have fun.
Best regards to all players and contributors to the forum
