Why?

All the other maps run fine for me, I buy Heart of Thorns and all of a sudden my FPS drops so much…

And I already run in low graphics.

Same issue for me in Drytop and even somewhat in Silverwastes. Are you sure it’s lag and not FPS? I think in my case my graphics card just really, really struggles with these maps because of the vertical spaces and all the detail in them. More than likely it is the same for you.

If however it is actually lag it could be there are a lot of people playing on that map and in the same area as you. Latency can also be a factor of this if you are located far, far away from USA like some of us who are stuck with anything from 200-1000 ping at times

Many variables come in to play tbh….
Good luck tho! As for myself I have to look at getting a better computer, can’t do anything about the latency tho.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

Well that sucks. Buying Heart of Thorns brings me low FPS, lol. Coulda said somewhere that you’d need a higher graphics card. The core game was just fine.

The later areas aren’t quite as bad, at least not as consistently. It’s the extra detail from the leaves etc, high density of smoke smoke and vertical scale of the map. They released updated specs for HoT before release, I just can’t remember if they were higher than GW2.

It’s taken a lot of playing with settings to find sweet spots for the HoT zones

I did notice this too. It seems that Verdant Brink seems to be the worst of the 4. Auric Basin, now I love that map, the music and I don’t even recall if I felt the fps going any slower. But then again maybe I was just having so much fun to notice lol.
