So nothing big for pve until march at least?
Maybe, but I’d be perfectly happy if they added to the pvp part of the game (it needs it in my opinion) and put in some quality of life stuff for the whole game (i.e. more functional LFG tool, preview option for the tradepost, better sorting options for the tradepost). And if they add in and switched some dynamic events around then I think it would definitely be a good couple of patches.
Where are you getting the impression that the Feb update will be mostly for WvW? Colin Johanson’s post mentioned “new features that will be rolled out across PvE, WvW, and PvP in early 2013 . . .”
Or you could… you know… wait until the blog post comes out with the “roadmap” they already said was coming… instead of… you know… making assumptions and asking other uninformed people to make assumptions with you…
All I hope is that we can have the whole month of january with nothing major going on. I would like to just relax and play the game for a month instead of having to think about another event. :-P

Accourding to Izzy, Fractals improvements are tracked for January….

Love this. Exactly what I was thinking.
If people want to talk about it then just say “What do you want to happen?” not “What do you think will happen?” We’re all just as ignorant as you are (with respect to Anet’s update decisions)
im 250h+ in game, only 45% map complete, i dont have all my exotic weapons and trinkets, only one character and about 1.5gold in my pouch.
just arrived on cursed shore, never saw the karkaland.
so, id much rather they upgrade the game foundations for now.
and make wvwvw allright so its ready for my arrival (after finishing my story provably).
The large majority of updates so far were PvE-oriented (to the face of those who say GW2 is a “pvp game”).
Jan/Feb updates are still containing a lot of PvE, in fact Colin said they are planning to improve and add content to the existing world.
Note that “new content” doesn’t mean “adding new maps everyone will ignore”, it just means new stories/events/dungeons/mobs/etc.
Currently GW2 has 26 large, detailed PvE zones, 49 dungeon zones and hundreds of events, let alone the storyline.
I can hardly remember any MMO that had more PvE than GW2 at 4 months from release.
So maybe you guys won’t mind if we get -some- PvP updates along with the PvE ones this year, especially considering WvW has been barely touched and sPvP has little to no content with few maps and only one mechanic.

More that the balance focus out of the gate was SPVP, but ANet found themselves with a player base with more love for PVE and WVW (likely because WVW allow players to show off their PVE bling, while SPVP is in that regard a whole different game).
WVW is btw a odd bird, it is PVP but share balance changes with PVE.
