So the patch notes get released
Ironically, one of the worst things about MMO’s is the massive playerbase. You need all those players to play the game and maintain upkeep, but devs also listen to players. Players are .. I’m just going to say “kittenheads” (that was not corrected, I typed kitten deliberately). A few minutes of reading through this forum is evidence that most players just talk out of their kitten.
Almost every profession forum has “This profession sucks, all others rock” threads. The result? Game companies ACTUALLY LISTEN. They may not ‘fix’ things in the direction the players want, but they find their own solution. Then, all the players kitten about what was done. Players have this terrible mindset that absolutely everything needs to be fair. They’ve been conditioned to think they should be able to mash their face on their keyboards and get points and butterflies and fluffy clouds. Rewards for doing nothing.
Games are consistently getting “dumbed down” to accommodate the screaming children that come here and WHINE ENDLESSLY. It’s one flaw of having a bigger company with a larger audience. The problem is what I call the spotlight effect.
When a game company is new, it is able to be innovative and make flaws and they won’t get the world yelling at them because .. the world mostly doesn’t know about it. Look at WoW after they released their first expansion – it’s just “dumbing down” right down the line. Blizzard did the same thing with Diablo 3. You can expect this of all major game companies that listen to their audience. Obvious double edge sword.
The old saying “The bigger you are, the harder you fall” works pretty well here. Every single change ANet does will come under HORRIBLE scrutiny, so they’re forced to either
1) Give in to player demands for stuff to be carebear fluffy easymode or
2) Make changes so incredibly small that they don’t really matter… but then people still kitten about them.
Lose/lose situation all brought on by the fact that ANet lets us have an open forum to discuss it.
The worst thing about the patch was that there was no performance tweaks at all.
This game NEEDS a bloody boot in thekittento get itself fixed so it actually is playable at all for those with BSOD’s, single digit FPS, screen tearing, unable to login. bla bla bla.
Why should they cater to the people who are complaining about non-critical aspects of gameplay that only serve to make things easier for a minority of players?
Yes, I was referring mostly to balance issues instead of bugfixes. Performance issues, skill bugs, and incorrect tooltips (as silly as it is) should be top priority.
Edit: I should add I have not experienced any framerate issues, crashing, BSOD’s.. only skill bugs and incorrect tooltips.
Last night I saw a level 5 with that Flame Tower (or whatever its called) armor. Not guna lie, I was extremely jealous and felt he should have EARNED the armor on that specific character.
Come on guys, stop trying to play on a toaster and you won’t have such garbage FPS.I mean seriously,I run the game fine on 3 pc’s at my house and none of them are even close to what could be considered cutting edge gaming tech now days.
2 nvidia cards,1 ATI.2 intels and 1 AMD processor. All 3 run the game at a reasonable FPS if i don’t try to crank the options to the max.Which i wouldnt expect to be able to do on my equipment. It’s not the game,it’s your system.
The skill point bugs do need to be fixed tho.

Single digit FPS? What the eff are you playing on, an Apple IIE?
What are your graphics settings? What video card? Seriously, this is a problem that I’ve seen 1 or 2 people have (you being one of them), so I’d really like to know.

It’s funny you should point that set out, because almost nobody “earned” that set in particular.
(If you haven’t heard, please refer to the part of the patch notes where they said they fixed the CoF exploit)

Are you sure you didn’t see someone that had been downscaled to lvl 5 and were actually a higher level?
Not doubting you because I’m sure it’s happened already.just curious where you encountered him, because if it was somewhere other than a major city…then he was probably downscaled.
because as far as i know, the armor/stats have a level requirement.Someone could take the skins and put it on lvl 5 gear, but that seems like a terrible waste to me honestly.

Token should be account bound.
That being said, I think a toon needs to have completed all paths of a dungeon at least once to earn the “right” to exchange those tokens for the armor. Like in GW:EN you needed a certain rep with the races to get their armor.
Variety is fun doing, the same dungeon with the same toon gets boring ( and yes I know some may like it, good for them they can still do it, but the rest have a choice now)

I don’t have any dungeons armor piece yet so please tell me. Do they not come with a level cap? or are they given at the level ot the toons that buys it?
My level 15 warrior can’t use any of the loot my Lvl 80 necro has found. I don’t think Anet would made that oversight for dungeon armor.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for your concerns. I would like to ask you to go to the following existing thread as the issues of the new patch are being discussed there. The devs are actually checking that one and it is easier for us if we keep all the feedback together in one thread.
Because of that, we will proceed to lock this one.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
