If magic find is being removed as a weapon / armor stat some time in the future, why did we just get a ton of recipes that revolved around hybrid and magic find stats? The Celestial stuff all has magic find on them.. And I paid a good amount of money for the recipes.

What is going to be done with this armor set once magic find goes to an account-wide stat?

They’ll probably just raise the rest of the stats by a few points to make the allocation up.

I don’t even think Anet knows the answer to that… they’re taking the easy way out and just throwing magic find out the window, so I don’t think we can trust that they’ll have foreseen the consequences of their actions.

They’ll probably just remove it(the mf from celestial gear), or replace it with something else, etc

Unless…

Celestial was one of the things they were talking about when they said 1-2 item “types”, that’s just a wild guess though, probably not.

Yeah, timing wasn’t great in terms of celestial, but the decision to remove MF from gear was great. With any significant change there will be a few bumps in the transition. It will be worth the bumps.

“And one more big change? The Magic Find system, where players currently have to choose or switch between gear with stats or gear with magic find, will be getting overhauled completely. Only one or two item types will keep the MF stat, while the rest of it will go an account wide stat that you can sort of “level up” over time with achievements and rare found consumables (they’re kind of like karma jugs). They’ll put a cap on it of some sort, but you’ll be able to go well over 100% MF, just maybe not 1,000,000%. The food temporary buffs will still be in the game too, which will add even more MF to your dungeon runs. Overall the goal of this new system is to take away the need to choose between more power or more loot. "

I actually had started my d/d ele down the path of celestial trinkets and the MF was a nice bonus which I liked. Still, I agree with Anet’s direction on this one so I told my ele to just deal with it.

So MMORPG simply made up answers made by Colin then?

There are usually some deeper information in the articles surrounding a blog/preview than the actual blog/preview

They added in gen gear so it has every thing on it the gear it self has nothing to do with having MF but to be gen type it needs to have a bit of every thing.
Its very unknown when the MF changes is coming.
The better and realty the only question is what going to replaces MF.

Main : Jski Imaginary ELE (Necromancer)
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)

Sounds good. I expect that if that is true, Celestial would certainly be included in that list of exceptions to MF being removed from gear. Not sure what the other exception would be – maybe ascended items already containing magic find stats? It’d be a shame for some of the flavor items that already have magic find (with GW1 references for example as their names) to be removed just because magic find is being re-worked to an account stat.

Item types. Not stat sets. Most likely they were talking about infusions.

Even if MF on celestial sets will be retained, however, the recipes OP bought will likely become obsoleted by the introduction of ascended celestial armor.

well celestial does have all stats, and it will still have all stats but no magic find, what’s the deal? it’s still a good balanced gear for the multibuilding
