I was running dungeons for gold to get gear, and for the bags of chocolates to make food. Right now I am exploring the world a little (mainly doing my personal missions) but the rewards are really really crappy.

I understand they don’t want us to run dungeons anymore, and world exploration reaps really bad rewards. Also the only way I can tell to get good items is crafting, but that requires those bags from dungeons that we are not supposed to be running.

So is PVP the only thing to do in this game? Was that the intention? I know I came here hoping for fun and interesting dungeons with the new combat system. With them telling us the game is not about that, I am kind of unsure what the game is about. Is anyone finding anything fun to do?

Inb4: Get 100% world explorer….Cuz…..No…That’s a grind for when everything else is done in my opinion.

I don’t see why people seem to think 100% world completion is a grind? It was my first goal and I was actually amazed to find I could level almost purely from just exploring the world, not even doing the renown hearts. From about level 24-75ish I leveled purely by clearing all the fog from the map, doing all the skill challenges, viewing all the vistas and finding all the points of interest (except the areas malchors leap, cursed shore and frostgorge sound). After doing a few story missions to hit 78, I finished off exploring those last 3 zones and actually hit 80 from discovering a town in frostgorge sound.

Then I went back later and cleared all the hearts in a day and discovered that getting the 100% completion reward from all the zones in one day gets you a CRAZY amount of cash.

That is not nuff said. Did you read my post? What are you doing? Are you guys both just exploring the map? I am having trouble with just question right now, I can do 3 or 4 quests and have enough silver to use the waypoints just once, or I can run around harvesting and get a pile of onions with no other ingredients to make anything.

And Avatar, like I said inb4 – Running around the map really doesn’t do much but get you exp, then you have spend money to get back to something worth while. (well worth while to me) What are you getting out of dungeons? Since the nerf on money, and the buff on difficulty I have been losing money going in to them. I get like 5 silver, then spent like 9 on repairs.

I thought I read that there was no reward other than some high level crafting stuff. How much money did you get?

If you have no idea what to do in this game, then I really have no suggestions for you. It’s rather obvious what there is to do. Hence, nuff said. I really don’t need to repeat what has been stated in like 400 posts so far in response to nothing to do posts. You could read one of them and get some ideas if it really is such a mystery to you.

Running around the map is how you’ll find most of the dynamic events.
These dynamic events are what replaced the conventional quests of other games.
The hearts are only a small part of the game.

I’m frustrated and disappointed.

The dynamic events, like Shadow Behemoth in starter land, were grand and felt awesome. Only never to be seen again, zone after zone of just a few repeated “dynamic” events that all feel the same anyway.

So try WvW. Hours long queues, only to get dropped from server and join the queue again.

So try dungeons…

What’s left?

I’m frustrated and disappointed.

The dynamic events are fun. I have been grabbing them up when I see them, and as more people join the fights feel more epic. But you can’t really get a group of friends together and run around a map hoping that you will find hard one (like a world boss), people have things to do at different time. Some times its an hour before I find one that is an actual challenging fights.

I know that a lot of people came from GW1, and maybe the game was based around walking around a map for an hour to find something fun to do. But a lot of people didn’t. Most people play MMO’s to play with friend against challenges to get better gear.

The more I play, the more I am realizing its all about time investment. If you live in your mom’s basement and can play 10 hours a day, you will find better gear running around the map than someone who comes on and plays harder fights (dungeons) for an hour or two a day. That is fine, I am just disappointed too, almost all PVE players play to fight the big fights, not to run around the map and kill 40 crabs that are invading a town of toads.
