There is a huge flaw with this system that I haven’t seen mentioned.

Under the old system, anyone could get the same level of magic find.

Under the new system, players who play more will eventually have far more magic find than new or less frequent players. Since prices will adjust to accomodate the average level of magic find, new players will be left further behind than they would be under the old system.

Example:

Someone who plays 2x as much under old system got 2x the loot.

Someone who plays 2x as much under the new system gets 3x the loot.

That is a problem imo.

Won’t be a problem, imo, for me

RNG is a bell curve. Better hope you’re on the right side.

More than 2600 hours, still haven’t got a precursor loot. And I don’t think I’ll get one even with perma 300% mf.

yes, players who invested more time and dedication to raise MF will be better rewarded than a new player or someone who did not care to raise the stat.

that is not a problem imo, but a reasonable system of work for rewards.

You seem very optimistic. I was too, a few weeks ago.

I’m on 191% now, salvaging a couple thousand things each day… yields 3-4%. The relisting of the amount of buy orders I’ve been doing takes about an hour if I’m concentrating, a lot longer if I’m not.

I’m definitely burning out on it, I might have to stop for a bit and gain more % by ectos, sure i’ll lose money that way but hey its way faster and definitely simpler.

The journey will crush you :p

Well, I’m a half glass full kinda guy. That’s why I’m still holding out hope the Lead Game Designer and his minions will see the light after pulling their heads from their bums and give Rangers a perma-stow option for the pets… But yeah, I can see how it is going to take awhile. Like I said though, I ain’t got nothing else to do so I’ll grind for something. I don’t care for the ascended weapons and all my toons are geared up so… Yeah. That.

When you are done, part of your daily and monthly reward will be useless. The end. It is the price we pay for rushing to 300%, which is fairly odd imo. Buying up a ton of greens and blues so that you can find more greens and blues… OCD is a thing.

Luck is just another example of getting account bound stuff that has no lucking use once you have enough. i.e 15 fractal torches and 20 stacks of bloodstone dust. I wish they would stop taking things like karma away from us. I spent all my karma right before the patch not knowing it would be nerfed and im sitting at lik3 30k not moving up any more. lucking ridiculous

also i feel really bad for people who spent the gold on mf armor and lost it just because Anet decided they didnt want it in the game and changed it to a longwinded system to get 300%

when you cap luck then those become useless. It will take most of the population a long long time to get close to cap. While OP is more than 1/2 there the majority of the population is no where close.

Maybe they will come up with another solution or use down the road, but it’s probably going to be a while.

What do you even need karma for that you are so angry about it champ? MF stat on armor was and is a terrible idea. This is an ok band aid but should never have been a stat to begin with.

I need karma for obi shards as well as some weapon and armor skins…. they cost alot

and i agree mf stat was bad but i think they replaced what took people a little bit of time to get to 300% with a new system which takes alot longer to max out.

edit: never had mf gear and i know about retrait however i also knew people with multiple sets one of them being mf and didnt need to change the gear because they already had every useful set.

They let you retrait your gear to almost any stat you wanted. While not preferable for all I’d say it was a fair compromise considering they were going to get rid of it anyway.

As for Obi shards. I understand. The nerf to karma income was drastic, but when they introduced bottles there was an overabundance. For those of us who haven’t stock piles we are reaping the consequences.

Well, I suppose if/when I get to 300, there will be no more reason to stay ‘up all night to get lucky’, because like the legend of the phoenix, all ends with beginnings.
Ah, or maybe when I get 300, I can finally kick that guy into the well and cry THIS IS RATA SUM!!!
