So what would you like to grind for
I disagree vehemently with mounts and pots. The ‘open world’ wvw zone is already tiny. And pots are just a ridiculous notion with the amount of healing already in existence in this game.
“So what would you like to grind for”
Let me see…. hmm… nothing !
I don’t want to grind for anything. I want rewards for mastery and completion. World completion, doing all the exp and story paths, unlocking every skill, racking up kills and objectives in WvW (why don’t capture / defend events reward a couple badges?), doing the jump puzzles, killing the world bosses, etc. Some things should stay expensive and hard to reach like legendaries, but max stat gear with choice of runes and sigils should be near ubiquitous for anyone except new level 80s.

Rewards ? But what is your reward ?
Grind can be anything and all the things you have mentioned.
But the question is what are the rewards if it is not gear.
traitlines and skills! but without grind’em.
It doesn’t suck your life away and force you onto a grinding treadmill"
LOL
I want to grind for misc. Items that can then be used for crafting things that people will actually want.
I want to grind for better gear, which I can make by my own hand.
I want to grind for trophies and collectables and shinies to add to my hoard.
I want to grind for gold, and learn the best ways to make money efficiently so that I ca enjoy seeing a large number next to my silver.
Basically, I want MMO things in my MMO. Who would have thought? I’m quite fine with this new tier of gear.

Same thing as GW1, titles to brag about and the (armor/weapon) skins to show you have been around long enough to know your kitten. A new tier of stats is a disincentive because I know it will only be temporarily the best and I will have to regrind it all later.

Nothing.
I don’t know why do people insist on grinding so much. My leveling experience was fun and very enjoyable the whole process. Anet needs to bring more of THAT into the end game, not things to do the same repetitive tasks for days so we can acquire them.
Why not just add more items for us to Plinx for a few hundred days?
None of the above.
Let people grind/craft/scavenge for stuff that doesn’t affect gameplay but they really want.
Tonics, weapon looks, armor looks, miniatures, town clothes, consumable items, achievements, titles and so on.
I dont want to grind. I want challenging content to beat that will give me the good items. What I DONT want is to do easy-ish content 10000times
more armor / weapon skins
maybe new skill animations
new abilities
challendge
NOT better gear stats …
I want to play for fun and get skins.
I don’t want the stat treadmill.
I dont want to grind for anything I want to play for fun period…

Nothing.
So thats it – you are done – you don’t want anything for your character.
Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose of a persistent character.
Something unique and prestigious, something I associate with skill and dedication.
agree for more skill BUT give serval other skills PER weapons skill slot to be able to change the actual “most of the time” default crap weapons builds.
I loved GW1 because you could do what EXACTLY you want of you 8 skills slot.
GW2 is a fail for that.

So I would be happy doing a long quest that covers this world and which forces participation in groups if it…
a) Gave me a mount for WvW because I hate running around that place.
b) Gave me a skill slot so I can introduce more variety into my attack routines..
c) Gave me access to PvP potions that I can use in WvW.
d) Gave me a new trait line.
e) Gave me links to the hottest GW2 girls on facebook.what would you grind for?
None of these. Instead:
- Have more visible attack animations for all enemies (not just Ettins)
- Increase natural endurance regeneration rate a bit
- Add a key so we can manually block for the same amount of time that a dodge roll animation would take. This will use up 1.5x more endurance than a dodge roll.
- Reintroduce the secondary profession mechanic from GW1, except limit the skills of your secondary profession to only support skills. Make the acquisition of these skills to be obtainable by skill capping only, and the devs may wish to limit the secondary support skill pool for balancing reasons if needed. This gives players another incentive to explore – to capture more skills.
- Eliminate waypoint fees for areas where you achieved 100% completion. This will make veterans more likely to check out older areas on a whim.
- Add more DE chains across all world maps.
My two cents.
So thats it – you are done – you don’t want anything for your character.

No, it doesn’t.
If by grind you mean do the same few relatively boring things over and over again, then nothing. I got GW2 because I did NOT have to do something over and over again to get my reward.
But if I was given the opportunity to do something challenging or takes a long time to do (that isn’t a grind to do), then I’d want the following:
1. Titles
2. Waypoint fee reduction/removal
3. Mounts if and ONLY if they run at the same speed as those who aren’t on mounts run. They can’t be used in towns or WvW (size issue for towns, rendering for WvW since people already have an issue rendering people in WvW). No flying (reduces challenge of jumping puzzles too much). And not useable in dungeons (size issue again). And no attacking while on a mount.
I’d only want mounts if they were very easy to obtain for even the very very casual players OR gave no advantage whatsoever to a player.
4. Armor/Weapon skins
5. Cash shop items achieved in game. I’d do a very challenging jumping puzzle if I was guaranteed getting cash shop items each time.
But do I want to grind? No. If it’s fun it’s not a grind. At least not in my opinion.
