Sadly Anet has severely nerfed all the loot mobs drop forcing people to hunt in a few certain areas :-(

Try Frostgorge sound (Ice Troll area and Icebrood Collossuses) or pen/shelter in Orr
Sadly all other places are virtually pointless to farm (Thanks Anet)

Lyssia Iceblood of Gandara – I sometimes win… but not often :-(

The new system of servers splits everyone up. If you play at night like I do, you won’t see a single person throughout your playtime. This makes events very frustrating for me as I can’t solo all of them. The old GW1 system of “servers” made it so that I was always meshed together with people. The solution to this problem is to add in cross server areas so that I can play with others across all servers at all times.

This website can help you find people to play with (specifically for dungeon use), assuming that you also cannot find people to do dungeons with you.

No its not you…

Anet has done some things people dont like so they have left.
Grind and VP = People left
Fracs only dungeons =People in LA or fed up and left
DR and loot nerfs (X3)=People left cause of a lack of rewards

Just a few of the things they have done to cause people to vacate the premiss.
There are bots farming scales in the ocean but they wont respond to your chat.

And the world is dead because everyone is grinding dungeons, try LA if you want to see someone else in the game lol.

This post is meant to be honest and sincere, not asinine and trollish. Take it for what it is, folks. No need to get worked up – and I’m happy to discuss any point I make civilly.

It’s sad. I loved Guild Wars. I played it for thousands and thousands of hours. I wanted to love this game. I looked forward to it since it was announced when EotN came out. I was so excited at headstart to get a new character made that was going to be my online alter-ego for years to come. I didn’t sleep the night before, I was so excited. So maybe that will tell you a little about how much fun I had in Guild Wars.

I logged on today. Stared at the screen. Couldn’t think of anything fun to do.

Exploration? Done. That was fun, but it went a lot quicker than exploration in GW did.

I’ve got an 80. I fitted it out with exotic gear, happy in my mistaken belief that now I was set forever to be able to go anywhere, do anything in Guild Wars 2. We all know what happened to that belief.

Level an alt? I can’t get one past 40 without losing interest. The higher level content is, sorry to say, really really boring between about 40 and 70. Compounding the frustration is the fact that once I DO get to 80, I have to start the gear grind on my alt, too. Sigh…I just wanted to play, not grind.

Level a profession? I don’t have the money to do that. Have you seen the prices of materials on the Trading Post? Since I’m honest and don’t bot, I don’t have the mats or the money. I don’t have the time to farm up all the stuff needed. I’m a working adult, yada yada. I just wanted to casually log on for a couple hours after work and play around in the world, just like I used to do in Guild Wars.

Fractals? With whom? Guild is quiet. Friends list is quiet (most threw up their hands in frustration and left last month). I’m not Level XX so I can’t PuG a Fractals group (not that I want to do that dungeon a million times for a remote chance at a drop I don’t even want). I don’t particularly care for the raging and snobbery that this community has developed, either. It’s certainly not the good old fun Guild Wars community. It’s more like WoW.

Other dungeons? I’m not a farmer, so I’ve not run them all a million times. I don’t know all the speed routes and exploits. This community is not nearly as friendly as it was in Guild Wars – it’s more like the WoW crowd and I really don’t think dealing with all the raging over nothing that goes on is fun. So I don’t PuG dungeons in GW2, even though I used to PuG in GW1 all the time (it was fun to meet people in that game).

Farm? If you have to kill monsters for what you want, the drop rates suck, and you need far to many of everything for it to be enjoyable. Nor do I enjoy wandering around from node to node for hours on end. Yawn. This game is grindy beyond description in that regard. No thanks.

WvW? There were a few people running around, but this week’s battle has pretty much already been decided. Essentially the only option is to run around capping supply camps with the 4 other people there. No thanks.

SPvP? Cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap cap I’m over it. Maybe if there was a /rank type emote, or a GvG ladder, or something worth being proud to have it’d be worth getting in some practice. As it is….the PvP title can basically be purchased in the Gem Store. So what does it really mean? Nothing. It’s definitely not the esport that it was made out to be.

So I log on…and stare at the screen. It’s just no fun any more.

Log off.

Where am I? Not in Guild Wars 2. Sadly, I’ve found other things to do.

I keep checking here to see if ArenaNet has awakened and smelled the coffee, but nothing yet. They’re just not the fun, involved, creative, intuitive, wonderful ArenaNet that they used to be.

WAKE UP ARENANET!

Log on… Go lion’s arch… see map chat. Everyone looking for fractals. Log off. Anet basically just destroyed their game… They promised NO grind! Yes, they said these are for the WoW Players. But Anet come on.. who come to gw2 just to grind stuff… the reason why gw2 is so hyped because Anet promised no grind and people think that it will revolutionise the feeling of mmorpg.

But NO! Exploration is so grindy… Hearts? Please the appearance is just different. They remove the numbers and add a bar instead. They remove the ‘!’ and put ‘<3’. I am extremely disappointed.

Grind in GW2:
Halloween Mad king’s dungeon
Normal Dungeons
Hearts

The only new thing is that we don’t get punished when we explore, and removal of the holy trinity. I wanted this game to be so so so so so good! Gosh… i think i really got my hopes up…

And to all those fan boys who are saying ’ if you hate the game why u still come to the forums?’ It is because i really want Anet to announce that they screwed up and come up with a update that will bring me back to gw2… Hopefully christmas will be good. If they add another dungeon… I WILL BE PISSED TO THE MAX! Another Grind added to the list.

To summarise… Everyone wants to grind stuff, most ppl dont bother to explore and i feel u bro… I would rather play skyrim if i have to solo gw2…

All servers are full, if you see zones empty it’s because the population is concentrated elsewhere.
Anet made a bad choice with the server shard system, yes, they should rethink it and go back to district system (TES online is doing it).

Try the Anvil Rock server.

I am clearing the map with my 80 and seeing people in every zone. I am leveling alts and seeing people in the low zones (some races are more popular then others). To be honest, we are mostly a PvE server. That means WvW hurts, but there are people there too (just not as many as we would like.)

Don’t believe the negative comments. This game is far from dying. Server transfers are free (for now), do a little shopping till you find a good one.

I find these posts perplexing. I play most days, and I have friends on other servers. All of them are very full, with LA on overflow for most of the hours of the day.

The OP mentions blacktide in an earlier post of his. Blacktide is always busy. Even at 6am there are people making fractals groups in LA. I know, it’s weird.

The OP wrote his post at 8AM, asking where everyone is.

People are in bed dude, or getting ready for work, usually.

But here’s the thing.

Blacktide has lots of people in LA at 8AM. I know this for a fact.

So I’m guessing you’re just lying to make a point.

On Desolation server i see people in every zone i go, admittedly there are a lot more in Lion’s Arch, Orr and Frostgorge, but that’s normal as the 80s station there.

I strongly advise you to join a larger guild. I know, we have our bestestbest friend 7-people guild-with-our-historical-tag, but joining a larger guild will not detract anything from the other guild (if it is quiet, it is quiet), and will give you a new perspective on the game.

Because, these game is meant to be played with other players. Forget farming, forget money and gear, and try going in a dungeon or on the events with your friends/team/guildmates in Teamspeak.

It wouldn’t be so efficient, but… i bet you will have fun again. Even wiping for hours (as we did in Arah last night without having a clue about the “speed routes”, hehe ).

I actually play in the mornings, and there’s always groups running and active WvW.

People are not transferring servers every day in the morning, and then back again in the evening. For obvious reasons, there is a 1 week cooldown.

Your obsession with trying to make everything think “full” servers are somehow empty is interesting.

Registered accounts do not fluctuate by time of day, every day.

It’s always lower from like 5am-8am, when late night players go to bed and early morning players haven’t woken up yet.

You must be new to MMOs. All MMOs are quite empty at those hours of the morning. That’s exactly what you would expect to see if the server list was tracking people currently online.

Well answer me this, then.

Ok, let’s suppose that server status is current people playing at that time (which it isn’t), what happens if there’s 20 000 accounts registered to that server, but the server only handles 10 000 concurrent players? what happens to the rest? it tells them sorry you can’t connect?

How does server full relating to currently online players make any sense?

The overflow is created when an AREA has reached a certain cap of players, but it has no direct relation to SERVER capacity.

The “player capacity” cap is set on a “per-map” basis, that is the entire system of the overflow. When it’s reached, the overflow servers create an instance. And that is also why it’s not related to server capacity.

So your answer, let me get this straight, is that:

Servers go down from full to high every day in the morning because everyone moves server at the same hours – between 5am and 8am, every day.

Never mind that transferring has a 1-week cooldown, people are doing this same thing, every day.

Servers go down from full to high every day in the morning because everyone moves server at the same hours – between 5am and 8am.

Never mind that transferring has a 1-week cooldown, people are doing this same thing, every day.

Do you really believe this? Maybe you believe that the entire US government are aliens?

You haven’t answered my question.

Honestly, your explanation is entirely fabricated.

I’ve just explained to you why your only reason is obviously wrong, because transfers have a 1-week cooldown.

Surely you agree your explanation is incorrect?

Edit: oh and never mind the hilarious assumption that everyone is moving servers every morning from 5am-8am.

Well anyway, the official word from arenanet is that server capacity is amount of players registered to that server, you can see the official arenanet response here:

It’s quite clear, and if you choose to find it ambiguous because it’s not what you wanted to hear, then suggest it as a feature.

Anyway the fact of the matter is that Eva said server capacity is total players registered to that server

Stop repeating the same nonsense, it’s weird xD

We’ve just discussed it and unless you believe that everyone is transferring servers every morning (which they can’t) then what you’re saying isn’t true.

CC Eva does not say anything clearly, and in fact goes back on what she said earlier. I’m fairly sure he/she must be embarrassed at the confusion, and she hasn’t posted anything about it since.

Use your common sense.

Jeez xD

Great, I’m glad we all agree that server capacity is the amount of people registered to that server, as Eva suggested in her response to this exact same thread at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Server-Populations/first#post703192

Thanks.

I give up.

You want to keep lying on the forums, fine.

I’ll just go back to WvW xD

Tarnished Coast seems to have folks around at all hours, and not just in LA.
