Probably didn’t have time, they’d have to create a bunch of skins then skills for them etc. etc.

Maybe we’ll see them in the future, who knows.

As time goes by more weapons will be added. A two handed axe sounds nice.

Cancer is also a Zodiac sign.

Agreed. Weapons I see on the horizon: Staff, Spears, Halberds, Glaives, 2H Axes, Crossbows, Gauntlets, etc.

Staves are already in the game. But I’m guessing 2 Hand Axes will eventually make it into the game. I’d also like to see Crossbows, Polearms and flails.

Sorry, I meant like a melee staff. One used for the thorough pumelling of another’s skull.

They likely shelved 2 handed axes so they’ll have them as an option for new weapons when they bring out an expansion pack.

If Anet is planning on using the Tengu in the expansions i’m guessing the next weapon would be something eastern. Maybe katana.

I would love to see guantlets though. Not enough games have them.

Katana wouldn’t make much sense, as they already have 2handed swords in the game. They’d probably be seen in the game as a skin, not as a new type of weapon. Gauntlets would be interesting, though I think 2handed axe and some variant of a polearm are most likely.

That would be a quarterstaff

I think it would be a great weapon for a guardian for some reason.

Or possibly a rogue. That way, I can play as Robin Hood xD

Sorry, I’ve always called it a Bo =P
I’m guessing they will implement these new weapons to compliment the introduction of new classes. I could def see the quarterstaff coming with some kind of sage, monk, or martial artist role.

A spear or halberd would be awesome; I was always a fan of those weapons. And no, underwater spear does not count ><

A bo staff is basically just the Japanese version of a quarterstaff. I used to call it that when I was younger, when I only knew about the weapon from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles :P

I wish I could find the quote but I saw an Anet employee respond to this question once. The answer was something along the lines of “we need to save something for the expansion” followed by a happy emoticon!
