So you made a legendary and ...
IMO legendaries should be account bound.
They should just be account bound regardless.
Or even “account bound on use”, since I don’t see anything wrong with selling them.
In the end, it would defeat the gold sink/gem store doctrine. Less drive to buy gems. It’ll never happen.
Might it be possible to convert them to account bound using the ‘de-soulbinding transmutation’? (transmute the skin ONLY over to a stock white or blue, then transmute that on the desired character onto an exotic/[ascended] – the purple name is tied to the skin, afaik)
HOWEVER – Don’t take my word for it. I have not done this with a legendary myself as I have no legendaries and would probably wait for someone else to for-science it anyways. Someone else may be able to confirm this. I have however done this with starter gear to replace that which I had accidentally destroyed. [This is in fact a feature, not a bug/exploit as was originally believed btw – Anet actually went to so far as to fix a bug related to it, where it retained the soulbound tag though acted properly as account bound]
Anyways, just saying I cannot be held responsible for anything bad that happens to your legendary.
Give Charr armor some more love!
Let us show our spots, stripes, or lack-there-of in style.

It would be pretty funny to see a level 1 running around the tutorial with Twilight.
edit: If legendaries function the same way other items do, the purple name isn’t tied to the skin but the item you transmute it to. Taking an exotic like Deathwish and transmuting it onto a level 1 staff would turn it into a white Deathwish.

Should be account bound. I don’t know why they are soul bound. Nobody will ever pay real money to make the same legendary weapon TWICE even if they would normally be willing to pay money. Especially when exotic gear has the same stats and you can change the skins too.
I’m for anything that stops discouraging people from making alts.
There’s a lot of ways you can really sink a lot into a single max level character in this game, things you aren’t likely to want to do twice.
I like what they did with ascended rings, account bound so you can have that taken care of on another max level alt if you make one, since you’re likely to rack up lots of rings eventually on a main. Would definitely like to see more of that.
IMO legendaries should be account bound.
I believe all, or most of the components are account bound already so a person playing on alts can still work towards a legendary, which is why the legendary should be account bound too.
So you made a legendary and … SELL it
Legendaries should be indeed account bound but it makes lots of sense business-wise why they aren’t.
That said, my ultimate goal is have my Guardian fully equip with all possible legendaries for his class.
Legendaries should be account bound, and not soulbound. Does not matter which character out of the 3,4,5,6,etc… that you have has made it, chances are they all contributed and more than likely…YOU contributed. Getting it is an achievement. You want to start another character who can also wield that legendary….then you bloody should be able to!!!
In my opinion the system of legendary is a bit blundered at the moment. I am not talking about its acquisition , but rather what you can do once you have it.
It is technially supposed to take a year+ to get there.
And once you have it after hundreds of hours of commitment…then all you can do is wield it on one character, and that’s it finito!
Let’s assume you got “twilight”, you make another character being able to wield a greatsword …. are you really supposed to go through it ALL over again oO ?
I do no suggest that once you get a legendary, then any characters you make should be able to get the legendary too…but I believe the skin should be unlocked (and made account bound so you can not put in on any rubbish sword and then sell its offspring on the TP for a fortune) for all characters of the same account.
The main reason people chase the legendaries isn’t because of the +1 or +2 in stats, but because they give a sense of prestige to its wielder.
You worked for it, you earned it, you deserve it.
In my opinion, that is why getting a legendary is currently a turn off for me.

I am going for sunrise and prophecies,(GS/shield legendaries), but I dont want legendary underwater trident for example, I think it looks pretty creepy and totally not guardian like. Neither spear, and neither sword(I set Infinite Light as a goal here, exotic that costs more gold than legendary sword :P)
Spending all your hours grinding for that 1 legendary weapon, lets say you are a warrior playing with a GS/Rifle and you are getting twilight, well you are playing hundreds of hours with the same build, that greatsword…. you get twilight…you’re still playing that same build, Why wouldn’t you put it on another character?
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
They’re bind on equip.
After they’re equipped, you can unsoul bind it with a fine transmutation stone.
I feel like what’s being asked for is basically already in-game.
I guess conceptually/philosophically, to me a legendary is the one thing that absolutely should be soul-bound after equipping it. Legends aren’t about Captain America loaning his shield to Thor.
I transferred over a soulbound exotic using the transmute to white item method earlier today so that method still works. I can’t guarantee it’ll work with a legendary but you really don’t have anything to lose by trying. If it doesn’t work you’ll simply have to transmute your legendary skin back into an exotic, so at most you’ll lose a few gold.
