"Social Play Improvements" and privacy
I want GW2 to give money to Africa cause it is against my concepts we don’t help poor people.
confuzzled
This feature exists in many games, and I know it existed in GW1.
I’m not sure why you are so up in arms over your guild leader(s) being able to see when you were last online, ie ‘logged in.’ Perhaps you aren’t cozy with your guild mates?
I know in my guild, this will be greatly appreciated, considering I know my members’ habits. If they up and disappear for an extended period of time (vs I just keep missing them online), I know somethings wrong.
Edit: I would actually like both dates as well. If someone is online regularly, but hasn’t repped my guild in over a week, I want to know. Then I can have a conversation with them as to whether or not they want to remain in my guild.

I value my privacy and the new blog update makes my privacy disposable.
Social play improvementsFirst, guild leaders who have wanted a little extra help with managing membership will be pleased to learn that you’ll now be able to see the last login date for guild members.
This is strictly against any privacy good practice ever recommended.
People being able to see when I last logged-in? No: change that! A guild leader shouldn’t know when I last logged in, but rather when I last represented his/her guild.
I’d actually like to have both dates. That would really help me clear out the roster of players who have moved on to other guilds but never bothered to leave mine.
dude, since long before the beginning of the internet privacy has been a nice illusion.
It’s just a simple thing from gw1 they bring back into the game.
And btw, atm everyone in your guild can see the last time you where online thanks to the achievement point leaderboards. (unless you never get an achievement point when u play, but with dailies the way they are, I don’t think that even possible)
That information was available since the release of Leaderboards last year.
https://leaderboards.guildwars2.com/en/na
It was only accessible through the site itself up until now, since they are making it it visible in game.
You’re kinda late with your “privacy” concerns.
I would agree with this but for different reasons. It’s more valueable to a guild leader to know when you last represented.
However if you’re concerned about your privacy to the extent that you don’t want your guild mates to know when you were last online I think we might view guilds in very different ways, which is fine but leaves me intrigued.
To me… my guild is my family and friends, people I want to interact with when I play (which is why I’m in a guild, to interact with them). What is a guild to you exactly?
A guild leader absolutely should have access to that information. Its hardly breaching your privacy to give out that information.
Depending on the size of your guild, it can be a real pain to keep track of active members without that information.
My god….
I suggest you worry more about your cell phone and the NSA then your last log in date.
The priorities people have <boggle>.

This “feature patch”, so far, looks like a joke.
I hope they have ‘expansion-like’ content ready for us in the summer.

lol
I don’t see the issue. It is just when you last were online, nothing more. Does not know where you are when etc.
Its a good feature that makes guilds better, seeing guild leaders can now manage their members. If someone does not log in (or represents) for months and months without any given reason. Stands to reason that it is not in a guilds intrest to keep inactive members.

Not the place for this I don’t think but…

Nope, I raised my voice against at that time as well.

One of the things, indeed. This is one of those few games that kittened up the ranger profession totally. And I’ve always played it in MMOs.
GW3, bring it on!

Iiiiiinteresting
“Precursor was initially planned for feature pack. Revamp of reward system caused the delay”
Very interesting indeed…
You have the right to remain silent. Any emote you use can be used against you. By posting on the forum you have been identified for being online. All shall be written in my humongous book of trivial knowledge.
P.S.: Do not call in sick and play if your guild leader is also your boss.
Well seriously – this should be a non-issue and is not really a privacy concern. A good feature, what we do with it is up to us.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”

Yeah, but considering this is the selling point of this blog, they won’t do anything at all. Especially since the information is already widely accessible to all players. From the information they gave us I can assume that this info will be visible only to guild leader and maybe her/his officers.
Yay, my ESO imperial box’s just come to my place!
Lemme know when ANet brings an expansion pack.
Enjoy your time until then, guys!

Despite what your signature says, you obviously aren’t a very proud member of [VETO] if you don’t want your guild leader to know when you were last on contributing influence.
