I’m not some leet kid looking for the ultimate cheat area or something ridiculous. I just like to use my “wallet” as my endgame “level meter.” Different people like to see different stats or different colors change – I like my gold number to rise.

I know that there are a lot of different ways to do this, but is there still a place where it’s viable to roam solo, pick up mats and fight for drops, and make a decent rate of gold? When I get on for an hour and I don’t want adrenaline – I just want to add a few gold to the coffers – what’s my best bet?

What kind of gold rates per hour are people getting roaming around different areas?

I’m always selling mats and items on TP — 99% of those items go for a few silver each.. and it all adds up pretty quickly. That is just currently what I’m doing right now.

I am afraid its not that simple/profitable. The best materials you can reliably solo farm are ancient wood and orichalcum ore. The amount of nodes is limited and you can check the exact location at google “gw2 nodes”. Since some of the nodes are located at cursed shore, you might hit mobs for chance to drop heavy moldy bags and they might yield expensive T6 mats (random mat, rates not amazing). If you want to maximize your gold -> do some expensive high end crafting / selling (gw2 spidy gives you a hint), go to frostgorge sound and kill champs in train (beware, its a lazy, afk spamming 1, braindamaging activity that will kill your joy) but it ends up yielding rares, mats, etc. that can be sold. Than, make 2x dungeon run in CoF 1, 2. The 2 paths are easy just let yourself carried and you will the touch of it soon.

Finally, go play the TP. Purchase items which might raise in value and sell for profit. Materials, skins, you name it…. This makes without a doubt the most money.

Best gold for just strolling through a map is probably Mount Maelstrom(hard wood, elder wood, platinum ore, vanilla beans from herbs) and Gendarran Fields(soft wood, iron ore, nuggets from silver nodes).

I personally like to hit up Kessex, Mt Maelstrom.
Kessex because it is quick and easy and Mt Maelstrom because it is one of my favourite places in the game.
Throw in some world bosses here and there if the are up and I usually buy t6 with my laurels.
gives me a steady stream of income – not great, but I also have time to do other things and pursue my own goals.
Best of all it is all stuff i enjoy doing in the first place

If you go to Queensdale and ask in /map where the train is you can join a large group of players who move about killing bosses. You’ll be able to buy the mats you need with the money you make.

Sadly all the wood prices are going more an more down. Was a good time in Dredgehaunt Cliffs when the wood there sold for nearly 2s sigh

I sell all my mats each the 1st and it yields between 60 and 200G for just picking up mats here and there and the exotics on occasions as well.

but atm i’m actually farming Chili peppers in Fireheart rise atm as it is quite good for earning some gold.
