I’m curious,

I thought the original idea of the game was we could solo play without a group and still get loot….yet everyone in events tries to group up cause in a group they have a better drop rate.

This means I hit on a champ for a while (same amount of time as a group) and get no loot but people in a group get loot cause they had a larger combined hit amount?

Does what I say made sense or am I wrong?

Is that fair Arenanet?

I feel its kinda unfair. Also dont answer back with “group up” there are many times when groups are full or people group up their own guilds or friends…. or people dont want to group..and so on.

Should just make raid sized groups or make loot drop fair and balanced for non party people.

Whether or not you get a loot bag rides on how much damage you do to the mob. When in a party, it rides on how much damage the entire party does to the mob. I don’t think that the percentage of damage goes up much, if at all, when in a party. Thus when you are in a zerg, you want to be in a party to up the chances you all deal sufficient damage to mobs and get the loot.

No, people group because it creates more monsters as the game scales events depending on the number of people in an area. Lots of people mean lots of monsters. You get loot from each one as long as you do a minimum damage to it. So you get more loot if you AOE a big pack. If it’s just one monster you will get the same loot no matter how many people there are.

Yep, I get the same loot as grouped players just by spamming my weak kitten Ranger aoe.
