With the new patch a lot of people have began to farm champions, theres 2 problems with this:

First if you try to do the event they will said you: “guest other server”, that you are a troll, or will threat you, etc for trying to do the event (lol).

Second: They destroy the content, is much more difficult to do it with a huge zerg scaling it all and trying to fail (yeah fail lol). Aditionally if you trie to do other parts they just kill the bosses in seconds, it becomes totally boring.

Its true you can bann people for insults, etc. But the main problem is the destroying content that this kind of zergs can do, they eliminate inmersion. This is posible because 2 things: they try to fail and/or the scaling isnt good enough for the zerg size.

The solution is very simple: make the scaling properly or the dinamics more intense (like Baltazar temple where people actually need to know 3 simples things: avoid fear, respawn if you die and idodge and ignore the champions).

So if you cant change the scaling, you can make that some kind of champions with simples (but more complex mechanics that the ones the zergs try to spawn) spawn, like abominations or wraths, they are good enough to make the content a litle more difficult, so that zergs need to actually do something (like when you do the event with less people).

That way its much less posible that they destroy the champions in a blink, because this ones will down them first if they dont take care, this way or less people will do them in zerg, or will be large groups (in contradiction to zergs), meaning the content still has value beyond the gold. Same way they will try to farm difficult champions in their way to failing, making it more difficult.

This will encourage people to play in group (for real, not in zerg mode), the zergs will try to go in even larger groups to probe their luck with numbers (meaning less content in game getting “destroyed” for them, and probably in less servers); and lately some content not will be done in that way.

Just ignore them and do the event.

But yes the champs should have more antizerg.

Just ignore them and do the event.

The issue isnt only that, is the fact that the inmerssion die as easily as the champion and in the events that they fail is much more difficult to complete it (in the cauldrons the “health” points are much biggers for the scale).

The Orrian champions like plaguebearers and corrupter (I think) actually have pretty strong anti-zerg mechanics. They do a massive AOE pull and everyone who doesn’t pop an invuln or evade basically gets obliterated by the pbaoe.

Sanctum of Rall (NA) – [LOD] – PvE/Dungeon Phantasm Mesmer build
Morrï (Mesmer) | Serah Mahariel (Guardian) | Morrï Mahariel (Warrior)

Two cases to watch out for here:

1. There are events in Orr which have mechanics which aren’t obvious or easily learned, and (best I can tell) in some of them an inexperienced player can harm the progress of the event. My own opinion is that content of this nature should not be placed in the open world, and that it’s OK for an inexperienced player to get 1-shotted but not for an inexperienced player to accidentally and unilaterally cause a wipe just because they’re learning. If approaching an unfamiliar event, watch map chat for guidance, which may be delivered in a very direct way by someone otherwise trying to stay alive.

2. There are rude people who did not learn to share when they were supposed to as small children. Ostracism — even ostracism of a whole class of players — is the only tool we have. It is a good sign that my block list in this game isn’t full.

If I am farming champions in a zone, I will tend to run with a (polite) zerg rather than be at cross purposes. It’s the polite and teamwork thing to do. Agreed the zerg tends to break immersion, but I find there are only a handful of zones amenable to such zergs, and many other places at similar levels to be more successfully immersed.

Have fun!
