Firstly, let me say this new system is a great idea and on the whole they have some nice stuff in them. Just a little more thought would help though. I opened my second chest today. In it was a PvP chest containing goodies. I gleefully doubled clicked it and out popped 5 weapons and a head piece. All exotic level 80 stuff. And that’s where it all failed really. Every single item was soul-bound and every single item “could not be used by my profession” !

So now I have 6 PvP items that I can’t vend or wear, they are just there for me to destroy

Welcome to sPvP. Just deposit the items. If you end up getting into sPvP later, you will like it, if not, you don’t have to see them again.

You can put them in your PvP locker where they will become Account-bound. =)

Is that what happens in there? They become account bound?

Very nice indeed!

Ye I got the same thing, I’m pretty sure Anet don’t intend to have rewards that are soul bound to toons that cant use them. I got a medium chest piece for my guardian. Not much good if its bound and cant be used by the class its bound to. Also I don’t pvp AT ALL. Do we really need to get rewards for a style of gameplay we don’t enjoy or intend on doing? I mean let me choose pvp or pve reward?

This is just how pvp items work in the game, the only issue is them giving a touney win chest with 6 items in it to people who aren’t familiar with the mechanics, and have no desire to pvp. Just click on your deposit collectables option and you’ll never have to worry about seeing your random free, but useless to you loot again.

It’s really bizarre for those of us that don’t pvp, lol. Although I was wondering why the heck I got one even though I don’t pvp.

For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards,
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

The forum was quite helpful to eliminate my confusion. In fact, I discovered an easy way to see all armour skins!
