I was watching the review of gw2 from angryjoe (won’t link, just search on youtube) and a yoggscast playthrough.
Then it hit me, this forum or n general has turned into a lot of crying and complains. There are a few lights in the dark.
And well I understand since this is our was to communicate with the team and bring suggestions.

But man.. Am I amazed by this game, true got some bugs, but look at the lvl of details, a prob with more to come… From pictures on the walls, to kids playing around..
And if you hate pve, then you can join a wonderfull chaos in WvW! Seige castles, conquer camps and make jump puzzle..(though some bashers tries to ruin the fun).

If that is too big a mess and you find it kinda boring just zerging, like my friend, then you can join a more structed chaos in sPvP:D it is great fun;) though Anet give us partyjoin in sPvP, I can’t stress the function enough.. Cause it is essenciel:)

But you really made a well made game, with a beautiful and living world, and only asking for retail price.. You can achieve anything without using rl money.. Any thing!
But this actually wants me to use rl money.. It encourage me to give a contribute (though I have no idea what to spend the gems on).

So on final conclussion.. Yeah there are the typical babybugs.. But woaw what a well done game.. I don’t feel oblicated to play.( except daily achiv and monthly.. Andkitten100k xp without dying is just not my style, and I even play guard and thief most durable prof imo)

Kind regards a satified gamer:D

No. They are there to hype the game up and sell it. They never reviewed the game when you get to 80, they reviewed at most the first 40 levels. The core of this game is fun and that’s what you experience in the beginning, it starts to fall into a state of attrition

Really? For I could see myself roaming around just to enjoy the world.. To be fair I tried that aswell in wow, but guess this would be nice because of all the small details.. Then again I am casual.. I don’t rush through stuff.. Or need big rewards xD gimme cool looking gear and a living world like this:)

And never liked end-game.. Liked pvp, and here you can do that instantly:D
But yeah hard to pls everyone.. But at least you do not pay sub-fee every month\o/
Also think many ppl, incl. Me, are set on the everquest/wow mindset… So just have to calibrate to this new kinda thing:)

Official forums are legendary for their ability to attract players who want to vent that something is op/upsets them/they dont like it/its breaking the game/etc etc
9 times out of 10, its just their opinion backed up by zero fact. Personally I wish they would add a ‘Rant’ section and leave that stuff out of ‘General Discussion’

People keep saying this game has beautiful graphics and great level of details… I feel completely the opposite.

The arts is very cartoonish. It looks like a Japanese Anime with bad Disney Clones. Every characters in the game is like prince and princess in Fairy Land. Everything looks so plain, fake and 2D especially when I am inside a city, everything looks as if I am back 12 years ago playing EQ1 all over again.

You are either joking or… dunno, what else you could be doing really. Troll value 0/10 for inane hyperbole and lack of taste.

No I am very serious. However, it is just my personal opinion, nothing more.

I was really disappointed the first time I visited Divinity’s Reach. I can not believe a game made in 2012 has such low level of details and textures. Everything looks so flat and plain that I felt as if I was back in Felwithe (the first city I visited 12 years ago in EQ1).

I saw Angryjoe and he was perhaps a little gushing. If you’re getting your solid gaming info from Yogscast, you need to go someplace else. Lewis & Simon are woeful at any game they try, just look at their Tekkit series and compare it to Sips/Sjin’s. Admittedly, their press beta videos were okay.

Increase your resolution from 640 × 480 and turn the details up higher than the minimums.

There are two very important rules in professional communications: published opinion isnĀ“t public opinion and negative emotions create more feedback than positive ones. Regardless of the game, you will never find a forum without a lot of complaints, even if you had the best game ever made. Happy people rarely visit forums to post how glad they are. Also, number crunchers (which are actually good for a game, not to be confused with the “my [insert class x here] got pwned, but I am awesome, so there must be a balance problem”-crowd) are far more interested in game forums than “normal” players, and you rarely see praise for good balance, but always criticism of bad one.
