Some thoughts about the good NPCs in game
npc’s are really well scripted in GW2, and they seem pretty lively. it’s a pitty we don’t get to see them anymore after their participation in the story though, I agree…
Hmmm, I thought all interesting NPC’s were killed off during the story. I must be forgetting someone… or Anet forgot to bump them off.
Interesting thought but I’ll guess no. It would put too much load on the servers if everyone was wandering around with an NPC buddy. They already have to disappear the minis when the map population gets too high. This would add to the problem and you’d probably see the NPC buddies and minis set to disappear with lower map populations. This would mean they’d be gone more often and longer.
There are more to come.
Have to agree with you, the construction of NPC’s characters and their respective story lines in GW2 is quite remarkable and sets a standard.
Personally I didn’t really like WoW. I played for a while, because a relative was there. It had a few interesting, if very short lived, story lines. But these were hardly exploited and the dialogue, such as it was, was pretty lame.
Not sure where you are yet with GW2, but I will urge you to get Season 2.
Destiny’s Edge has disbanded. Another group has emerged with very different, yet equally strong characters.
Have a look at this clip. It’s about 20 mins long and features three very strong characters. It might be a bit of a spoiler for things yet to come for you, or it might not, sicne I don’t know how are you’ve gotten yet.
Yeah, unfortunately, a lot of good characters were either dropped (especially from the early personal story) or were killed off ANet style for little to no effect.
You’d think the personal story characters would at least show up in your home instance. I want to see my charr’s warband show up now and again!

I have seen them, but it’s a total coin flip as to whether or not they’ll show up. For Charr NPCs, they tend to be idling in the bar somewhere. Noted Clawspur and some of the storyline recruits at some point.
But c’mon ANet, give us our warband back!

I found Dinky is inside the Hero’s Forum, but just standing there, unlike the other NPCs move around. It makes him oddly staring at a point.
I don’t know how other sparring NPCs would be , could they be just like other NPCs get something to do?
