Someone asked the guy who got banned to post a picture of Anet’s response but still nothing. I see it as his way of saying “this game is boring anyway” and gather attention, rather than really getting banned for it.

@DarkWasp.7291 | @maddoctor.2738 Well that person who suppose got banned is active at youtube, and he has given 0 response after we asked him nicely for proof of this ban. Either he don’t give a f*** about sharing it, or he is just lying.. again this is a very popular mod, and find very hard to believe this is the ONLY guy in the entire world who got banned for using this (what seems to be undetectable) mod.

I gonna start using it soon, gonna set it up later today and see how it works.

Well days after forgot to comeback and tell that I tried out the mod, don’t work… sadly the cam movement which is the main thing, is not working anymore :S
SO yeah, if anyone got this mod to work fine, lemme know please!

(with the new expansion arriving wish they actually add this gameplay mode as an option….. but I know that will never happen ;( )

So is the mod safe for use ..or not ? because 2 years ago it was a clear No , and now from what ive been reading on diferent sites and forums its permited…isnt there a official response from Anet thats more up to date.
I mean the mod only keep the right click pressed and use mouse buttons as 1 and 2 actions…( if u have a gaming pc , mouse and keyboard u have a way bigger advantage).
Its just that this mod look really cool and can really improve the imersion in the game not to mention it would be fun as hell.

ArenaNet do not review mods. Apparently mods are permitted as long as they do not give you an advantage over other players, or performing more than one action at a time. They are still use at your own risk though.

I’d bet my boots this guy got caught scripting, hacking, or scamming and is firing off on this mod just as a final childish ‘screw you’ to the game community. Especially since this mod breaks absolutely no rules! It does not modify the game code and if anything is a massive disadvantage in competitive combat. It requires you to rely on GW2’s existing automatic targeting acquisition system, which ANet’s own developers have admitted sucks to no end.

Unless I’m mistaken, I don’t think Anet even gives a complete seal of approval to their own code. If you find something game that doesn’t work as expected, and you get an advantage from it, and they think you should have known they didn’t intend for it to work that way, can’t you still be banned for using their own unmodified game in a way they didn’t intend?

Why single out Anet for this? Every mmo I’ve ever played has had their developers do this.

I didn’t mean to single them out, it just struck me as interesting that people are complaining about being redirected to the ToS and somewhat vague guidelines for approval for uses of 3rd party mods when I realized the exact same situation most likely applies to their own official game client.

Looks to be related issues, like cousins maybe. I think there may be something explicit about exploiting game bugs in the ToS but I’m relying on a vague memory of someone putting the info up in a thread. Might not even have been for this game. Anyone who’s ever played an mmo should know about exploiting actual game bugs, though.
