I could have had a level 80 by now. I have the worst OCD when it comes to characters. No where else does it effect me.

In this particular case it is between the Warrior and Guardian with Human and Norn as races.

Why? I have always wanted a Human Warrior. Always.

Why? I assumed that a Norn Guardian does not fit the lore right and missed my Norn Warrior. The Norn Warrior felt right.

Why? This time I got really far. But my issues was that my Warrior simply loves ranged now. And a huge heavy armor wearing Norn from range did not sit well with me. As for my Human Guardian I felt it was too “typical” of a race class combo. I have been playing human paladins forever…

Now I went back to this. So far so good. My plan is to use my rifle with my warrior and dual wield axes. My Guardian will carry big, heavy two handed weapons which fit Norn’s well.

What in the world is wrong with me? Someone, anyone, please tell me to stop doing this. I want to bookmark this thread to come back here if I want to do this again. Tell me that a Norn Guardian works lore-wise.

Well stop deleting them :P you have multiple slots anyway haha

My slots are mostly used up by my Thief, Enginner and Necromancer.

Yeah, I think you have a problem. So just stop it!

I’m not a lore expert, but I think if all of the classes are supported by all of the races, then the lore has to support it, either by previous lore or by adapting to the new game. I’d go with what works for YOU.

Norn Guardian actually does make sense in my opinion. Bears, in general, are very protective and territorial creatures; they watch after their young, and try to keep an area uniquely theirs. Guardians are exactly like that; the protect those that they are around, trying to keep them alive, while at the same time trying to force enemies away from them.

Why stop at just deleting Norn and Human??

I have the same problem with changing my mind about a character after Ive played and leveled up a bit. When I try out a new MMO the first character I make I usually always delete after I get a better feel for the game and learn more. It takes a couple tries before I figure out the right characters.

And I am assuming that in this game there will be no race changes since the racial story is connected with your character development, so whatever choice you make is permanent.

Maybe the issue is that I don’t care for Guardians and love Warriors.

I laughed!! Though not to the same magnitude, I’ve been doing the same with warlock and elementalist. I just need to buy another character slot. The others are taken up with thief, engineer, guardian and ranger.

Step away from the delete button. Just put some duct tape over that part of your screen so you don’t ever have to see it again.

Just roll a Human Warrior, Human Guardian, Norn Warrior and Norn Guardian. Problem solved.

Once you get far enough into one that you don’t want to flop back to another, and you want the extra slots for, say, Charr/Sylvari/Asura, then delete the ones that you can part with.

I say stop worrying about the lore. When they revealed the engineer, one of the things on the engineer FAQ page was expressing the odd idea of a Sylvari engineer.
Arena replied by saying that your character is meant to be a hero that stands out from the rest, and that the odd mix of class and race can be one of those things that helps them stand out more. Just like how their are Asura warriors and Charr mesmers, a Norn can be a guardian easily. In fact, I think that a guardian makes a lot of sense to a Norn.

Why would a Norn Guardian not make any sense? A Guardian(paladin) is basically just a protector of the ideals and upholds the morals/traditions of a present set of culture/alliance. It could work with anything with the right story. Hell, it works rather well with the different spirits of the wild in any case.

I actually rerolled my Guardian too, from Asura to Norn. I couldn’t possibly see myself switching back and forth like you though, even though I’m pretty picky and an altoholic myself. I think you need to just bite the bullet and settle in to something no matter what starts to irritate you, or you’ll never make it out of the front gate, haha.

It sounds like you are going to end up with lots of chars. So just front the change and buy yourself a few more slots..

I think you’re wrong. I have an Asura Guardian. They’re so awesome. Little dude running around taking a beating like a pro. He may look small, but he feels like Godzirra!

I’ve got a Charr Warrior and a Norn Guardian and a Human Thief. As well as a Sylvari Elementalist, and an Asura Mesmer. I also already bought an extra character slot for my Charr Engineer.
Still need the slots for a Human Necromancer and Sylvari Ranger.

Haven’t ever once felt a reason to change. Just pick one and stick with it.

What I plan to do, eventually, however… is to have 15 character slots total. Three for each race. I plan to repeat every profession once, except for Mesmer.
