Does it mean anything? I’m no lore buff, and it may just be in another language, but this seems strange to add into the painting. Anyone have anything on this?

Maybe we will find out if that thing makes it into game. I like how ArenaNet always plants little hidden nuggets like this.

Don’t mess with Ascalon!

Wow. Do you always zoom in to find things like this on pictures you see?

Also, sadly don’t know what “BOMSAK” may be(think the “B” and “O” iare a bit blurry though, could be something else). Tried google it but got no result.

Looks like an easter egg. Seems to belong to arab culture, since I only get that by google-ing “Bomsak”.

Can also relate to:
James Albert Bonsack, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Albert_Bonsack
Boonsak Ponsana, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boonsak_Ponsana
Bonsack Baptist Church??

Also the picture at left seems to be… a wine bottle with something writen under, all I can read is “New…”

Normally no, but I like to look at the paintings ANet posts that have those tiny people in them. It’s cool to look at how the watercolor paint was done over the regular one to give an overlapped photo look. There was a lot of detail in this pic so I was just looking at how they did the strokes and lighting, and I came across this.

Maybe a reference picture layer left out by accident? Looks like a soldier’s uniform or something, like the pocket or whatever. Less exciting I know, but more likely lol

Give me game. Not grind, not gating, not RNG, not +stat junk, not checklists.

Since it seems like he is flying in from space. This will allow all races to use the kit as they fall from air ships or helos.

lol i really don’t want this thread to die it’s getting interesting :P

The question is: why is the uniform of a soldier, whose last name Bomsak is embroided on the pocket, doing in this picture of a seemingly flying golem? A hommage to someone who fell in battle? A hidden homoaffective demonstration from an ANet artist to a guy in a non-us military post? Or to a foreign traffic officer? lol

I had the same first thought as GreenSage. Santa typically carries a sack, and if we are to have a fight this Wintersday, perhaps Toymaker Tixx will be lobbing bombs in addition to (or instead of?) presents! Maybe because we’ve been naughty?

But you see, the name seems to be clearly a picture buried under the art, in some forgotten or maybe purposely added layer. It’s not part of the drawing. it seems like an embroided/silked name on some sort of uniform. Am I the only one seeing this?

There’s also a ?ELL? on the bottom left.

They paint over real images, so you never know if it is just a remnant.
