Something about Hoelbrak's art!!!
Looks like a bridge, but why couldn’t they have cranes? How did they get the building materials to the top of those high-rises in the background? I see tall catapults out in the world, so I guess they could have cranes, as well. /shrug
But, again, looks like a bridge to me.
Probably the left over of the photo they traced over as evidence leads to suggest.
That’s what happens when you use holiday snaps of a hotel for GW2 concept art in Photoshop.
Unless the Norn have a crane they are working on?

We have guns and cannons and tanks and you’re worried about a crane? The Charr are an industrial culture, and they are next door neighbors to Hoelbrak. Probably could have borrowed one to build stuff.
Painbow.6059: Ignore what anyone else who doesn’t agree with me has said because its wrong.

Of course, next thing we know the Norn have docks and are importing weapons outwith the TP
Ps, I’m not worried about the Charr at all, they managed to construct a giant deathstar ball of uselessness since my toon in GW1. Christ I’m starting to see why Trahearne…..lol

I have to agree with the bridge, but also as said so what if they have a crane.
it just seems weird to see something so close to its real world counter-part in a game with this kind of art style.
It’s clearly a tower crane. But the whole art is copy paste photoshop composition anyway. Norns building resort hotels, car parkings and stuff:P
it looks like a bridge like the one near the entrance.
The concept of the tower crane is not a new one, it has been around for centuries, using leverage to lift heavy objects into high places. Modern people like to think everything we do is so innovative, but most of it is just polish and miniaturization of old ideas.
Even not taking that into account – Asura – case closed.
I’m sorry I stepped outta yer box, don’ worry, if
ya whine enough they’ll put me right back.
Actually wooden versions of cranes like that were used even in the days of building castles, and theoretically could have even been used on the pyramids. Not sure why they would use them for a wooden structure though… wood isn’t heavy enough to need a crane.
