Guild Wars 2

Just reinstalled the game and been reading the class forums to see what changes have been made to each class. But in literally every single one its people claiming their class is horrible, over nerfed, and everyone should just reroll. Also the classes that were OP when I quit like Guardians, Warriors, and Elementalists are complaining as well. So if they are all nerfed and not worth playing and everyone should just reroll what are you supposed to reroll to?

Its really really hard to gauge where the classes stand when according to each forum their class is the worst.

Reroll a Black Lion Trading Post flipper. They are the people with the most legendaries and thus the best players. Warrior and Guardian are still amazing imo you just can’t go wrong. The other professions are fine to but people are just made they can’t feel like a god like they did in Skyrim. Haha okay, in all seriousness though if you can push buttons in the proper order and dodge when needed and have good position awareness you will be just fine no matter what you play. Still though, Warrior and Guardian are great.

The ones mostly complaining are the cookie cutters. I wouldn’t pay them much mind.

Every profession forum is going to be full of people complaining that their profession is nerfed. Any time there is a change that happens, so every update. Best just jump in, pick a profession that appeals to you and gauge for yourself. The GW2 forum is the worst possible place to get unbiased objective information on any profession, or to be honest the game as a whole. Forums like this were built for negative Nancys.

Thief is still OP, a very high uptime evade build concept was just nerfed
Elementalist has been toned way down over time, but pure condi builds are sad bcs of Diamond Skin
Warrior has probably been buffed overall by heal signet alone, but the control build’s damage was nerfed slightly two days ago, but it’s still boarderline OP.
Guardians haven’t changed too much, but people have found creative ways to make them dps.

All in all each class has it’s own “OP” qualities, which is to be expected since they have differences

Yea Im probably going for Guardian right now. But I was just shocked to see so much QQ even from classes that were doing great when I quit. I mean Necro/Enginner QQ was pretty much the norm but Guardians? Whats next Mesmer QQ?

Not QQ but I suggest you try one. I have at least 1 of each profession. I’m not a great gamer by any means but I love my Mesmer. It’s the most fun I have had from any of the professions. I was into Guardian but I find it a snooze fest now.

When have guardians been OP? lol
They’ve always been just OK. Nothing more. And no real changes to the class since the beginning so they can’t be more than just OK..

Not QQ but I suggest you try one. I have at least 1 of each profession. I’m not a great gamer by any means but I love my Mesmer. It’s the most fun I have had from any of the professions. I was into Guardian but I find it a snooze fest now.

Mes became my main a couple months ago and has become pretty cemented as the one class I wish I was playing when I try anything else :P. Granted, I play PvE, so it depends on your focus and playstyle. As always, play what you love really well and folks will think you’re OP.

It’s really simple to understand when you follow these simple rules:

1) Whatever class you are playing is broken, often irreparably. No one should ever play it, and you have no chance to do anything against any other classes.

2) Whatever class you covet is wholly overpowered. It’s completely unfair how it beats you every single time at everything.

If everyone is ticked off then ANet is doing something right.

^This logic is absolutely correct!
Being Overpowered or Underpowered it’s a matter of perspective often linked to L2P issues. Those cases that falls outside those issues, are really the ones that should be balanced accordingly, yet, the balance itself can assume different ends.

If Balance is:
.1) Every class is Overpowered against 4 classes and Underpowered against the other 3.
Would you consider this balanced?

.2) Every class is exactly balanced and against any other class, equally skilled players often end in a tie.
Would you consider this balanced?

So if all classes suck you have perfect balance?

Anyways been leveling Mesmer and really liking it. Now to fine some videos and see how Im supposed to play in ZvZvZ

Many of those complaining have overfarmed rank points and now they are getting matched against people way out of their leagues, or depend too much on pre-made builds they copied from some site and can’t adapt to changes.

I would not worry too much about them.

Well, except when it comes to thieves and mesmers in WvW. They are cowards that only win when they use dirty and cowardly tricks, and if Balthazar was around they would not be left unpunished, and they’ll end up trapped in the Underworld for all eternity, by Grenth’s Justice. But there’s exceptions for everything.
