Whenever there is a patch to download for GW2, the launcher will download it ‘f course. But the problem with it is, that when you close the launcher and open it again, the patch starts downloading again from the beginning. Isn’t this an extremely inefficient way of having a patcher patch?
Like, I have an extremely low download speed, so I want to pauze huge patches sometimes, just so I stream some stuff to watch. But since there is no pauze-button, I need to close the launcher and then.. download the entire patch again. This is the main reason I won’t/can’t play GW2 anymore, since I still need to download +2gb of patches (and yes, this is a lot for me).

Or is it just that the download resumes when opening the launcher, but the percentage is back to 0%, like Path of Exile launcher?

It’s actually picking up from where you left off. The launcher is just showing the percent of number of files left to download.
