So before I waste my life on Candidate Trials, I want to see how “rare” these aetherized weapon drops are. Because we all know how anet defines “rare”. Anyway, if anyone has gotten one please tell me about it
Or leave feedback on anything you know about the drops.

Firstly, the weapons you get as drops are random out of the 19 types available. They also don’t drop as skins, they drop as actual weapons with rare quality, which means you need to transmute them to get the stats you want.

Secondly, the drop rate is low enough that the last time I checked, 24 hours into the event, none of the weapons were below 40g on the TP.

With the current prices, I wouldn’t farm the candidate trials hoping to get the skin I want, but perhaps doing it to get any weapons at all so I can sell them is an option.

The mechanically moving (animated) blade on the Aetherblade sword is the most ridiculous and ineffective-looking weapon I have ever seen. Thumbs down on design.

My english is a bit rusty so i don’t know what it’s called but the sword reminds me of a
knife used to cut the turkey for thanksgiving, only motorized

Uh, no not all of them—just the ones with the motorized design and animation—the swords.

I got the hammer and staff, I think they’re both pretty cool .

the compound bows are okay but 50g+ on the tp.
how about no.

the rest is either a tesla coil knock-off or some silly motorized blade-thingy.
and i’m pretty sure the initial pistol was black/silver, not golden/silver,
like the one available.
shame, i really wanted to get the rapier and a good looking revolver

to expensive and not so special looking for the effort to get one..
they’re in the same level as those consortium skins.. gimmicky.

The melee weapons are horrendous, all the swords and axe are beyond belief and the hammer looks like two 6-packs of beer tins stuck together ..

I didn’t bother looking at the rest …

skins have clipping issues, nothing for me.

If they are selling for 40 to 50 gold each then obviously some people like them. The game has to try to appeal to many different tastes. No one is going to like all the skins. If you don’t like this set, then save your money for another.

I suspect that since they aren’t event rewards (someone would have found one by now), the rapier will be a unique gem store item similar to Brahm’s mace or Rox’s bow. My guess is that it’ll be named something like “Aetherized Rapier,” or “Scarlet’s Rapier,” or even “Mai Trin’s Rapier.” If it really were released as a gem store item, we can have a very good guess for the price: 800 gems.

I just took a long hard look at the sword.
It looks like it belongs on a train’s wheels.

Awww come on guys.. noone likes the pistol? I love it! It fits nice with the Temple hat and some random duster.

The pistol is awesome, so glad I was able to get some luck with the chests and get one. Hoping to get another one for PvP.

Black/silver? It was golden/silver when it was found out during the Dragon Bash.

I think the OP is just asking about drop rates. I can’t answer to that as none dropped for me in a full run of both trials. Last night the pistol was under 50 gold and only 8 were up for sale. I am waiting, as I want a pair of pistols. And the spear (underwater bifrost!), the rifle, both bows (so pretty), the shield … egad I want a pile of these skins.

But the pistols will be my priority given the high price.

Yeah the pistol is an awesome design,same goes for rifle,really stylish look to them.

The pistols look like they were sucked right out from Bioshock Infinite.

I actually like the axe skin.

I want the pistol for my Engineer, the other skins are pretty terrible.

The fact that it spins constantly makes it almost as desirable as my warrior’s dual Stygian Axes.
