Q:
Soooooo Guild wars 2 new weapons?!
I don’t think we’ll ever see “Unarmed” combat, as the game’s made with the intent for you to carry weapons with stats on them.
Instead, we’ll likely see some kind of cestus, brass knuckles, tiger claws and the like. An “invisible” model would give us bare hands, though they’d still be closed as if holding something, so charr may not slash with their own claws.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
I say stop with the new content until we fix our current ones

While I mostly agree with you on that, a new weapon set might allow them to try out some possible ideas without applying them to existing weapons and possibly messing up people’s builds if the ideas don’t play out as expected.
The main focus should be on making what we have work and work well, but sometimes that means bringing out something new first.

What’s the difference between a wand and a scepter?
I think land based spears would be neat. Kind of on the fence about them being thrown weapons though. GW1 had paragons throw their spears, and I always thought it odd that new ones just materialized in their hands. Even the ranger’s infinite arrows didn’t bother me as much as that. But my issue with it is purely aesthetic. I just don’t like it because it looks weird.
I’ve always wanted a scythe, since dervish was by far my favorite class to play in GW1, but I feel like I got my scythe fix with the reaper. Not only from the literal scythe you get in DS, but also the GS works somewhat similarly to how I used the scythe in GW (i.e. attack 3 enemies at once with a melee weapon)
