It would be better news if it WAS a hardware failure as they can possibly do something about that. Repeated DDOS attacks from a variety of sources is not something Anet can realistically halt.

Why would ANet lie about having hardware failures over a DDOS attack? The admitted to previous attacks and did what they could to mitigate them. They gain NOTHING by stating they had hardware failures when an outside source caused the failures.

You think that this is the only group who claims to be doing this? There is probably half a dozen groups that have claimed to be responsible.
