Mind you I didn’t even start that thread, I just replied in it and I’m totally ticked off. Forums are here for discussion, be it negative as it may, it still should be worth the same as the positive feedback. The reply and action the moderator took upon the thread is highly offensive to me and completely out of line to it’s community.

And besides, the mere fact of having a guide to enjoy your game and even forcing it on players that stopped enjoying your game is kind-of sad, don’t you think? And just proves something ain’t right.
I am completely disappointed with the behavior of moderators on the forum. I am a writer for one of the big mmo websites and I am seriously considering making a story out of this, so other people can see what’s really going on. Sickening.

yes they locked and closed loads of threads about nightcapping for weeks untill they tried to stop it by having a dev thread .. which has since became the biggest thread on the entire forum by a mile.
in this section orr threads are closed in minutes except the one thread again they deem allowable.
really moderation should be to stop trolling and abuse NOT to censor and control the flow of ideas and opinions.

They can make any decision they want regarding what they allow in the game or on their official forums for their game. There is no right or wrong thing for them to do, simply what you prefer and what they prefer. What they prefer will and should always happen.

You could also take topics they lock over to other forums. There are forums outside the official GW2 forums.

We allow discussion on the forums so long as it is constructive – be it positive or negative feedback- . But if we consider that a thread has derailed or no longer brings constructive material, by the guidelines we have to close it.

Orr threads have been merged into a single one, but those that were only a rant/whine that added nothing to the forums were closed.

Regarding the thread you linked, the guide was linked to give people some ideas of what to do at lvl 80, not to force it upon noone.
