Seriously guys, it’s way too excessive. I was trying to get a group together to do the Priestess of Lyssa event in Malchior’s Leap which involved several smallers events and one big event. People were asking for instructions and following them, we were all working together and I was also using map chap to try and draw as many people on the map to the temple as possible. Telling people to stay after an event because the defend event was going to spawn in a second or getting people to back off of Lyssa and take back the waypoint or defend the golems because the event was about to reset, I quickly got hit with the spam filter (despite people still asking for directions and wondering why no-one was joining in at other event areas) and I was unable help guide people through the event. We also became essentially invisible on the map because no-one was coming to join us with the event because we weren’t able to tell people about the event.

You have giant events which require large amounts of organisation but you have a crippling filter on the chat to prevent people from communicating with each other. I’ve also run into the spam filter when I haven’t said anything for 15 minutes. It’s clearly not well thought out and is far too unnecessarily punishing like half of the punishment mechanisms in the game.

Was trying to get a group together for a dungeon. Posted an LFM message 3 times at 5 minute intervals and got hit. That was literally all I said in mp chat for those 15 minutes. Filter hit, and I couldn’t talk to anyone. Waited another 5 minutes but still couldn’t send anything in chat. Ended up having to relog.

Yeah the spam filter is really annoying when looking for a group. I have to be really creative with messages or the filter will silence me.

which is also annoying, seeing all these symbols and asnine styles you DO NOT need to spam the main chat for a group write it properly once or twice those interested will see it and respond.

map chat is NOT for group finding use the kitten LFG option in your social interface.
or use the local chat channel instead of bothering the whole kitten map.

I tested the system out last night.

If you send the exact same message three times to a single chat channel, on the forth time it locks the channel to all messages for you for about 1 minute (maybe less). After that very short lock, you are able to post anything in the channel you want, EXCEPT the message that you previously sent three times. If you send that same message to the same channel again, it locks the channel for another 1 minute or less, and then allows you to post again.

So, as long as you don’t send the exact same message to the same channel four times, you’ll never have a problem. If you do get blocked, wait a minute and then you’ll be able to post anything you want except the previously repeated message.
