Speaking about servers, is your server friendly and helpful?
I play on Gunnar’s Hold- EU server –
It is a very friendly and helpful server, I see lots of those kinds of questions everyday and they always get answered almost immediately. It is nice to know that if you have no idea you can just ask.
It is just generally a great community. Map chat is a blast.

I am not a MMO verteran but I have played a few and I have only played on one server in GW2 but I am finding this community to be the quietest community I’ve played in. I’m loving the game but for me it is lacking a MMO community feel a litle bit.
Isle of Janthir. Everyone is friendly and crack :p I mean, we are serious but not too serious. We know how to have fun – which is the most important thing why we’re playing a game – to have fun.
And we help each other too – a lot.
I second what Morrigan said – on Gunnar’s Hold the community is friendly and talkative. Everyone seems to be having a great time.
So far, Desolation EU was helpful for me. The people seem nice too, and the chat isn’t “quiet”.
If only I could find a proper guild…
Rockbaby – Asura Guardian, Desolation EU :)
Rockavenger – Dwarf Paladin, Bronzebeard EU :D
I used to play another game (idk if I’m allowed to say the name of other games here, I know some people do, but I play a different MMO that disallows it entirely) that had almost no chat at all. I hated it. Most people spoke in regular chat, but you had to pay for “shouts” that carried across the map and there was literally no regular chat (except “playful” bantering, which I find kinda annoying sometimes).
I really like it when people ask questions all the time. Even if I don’t know the answer I can learn from it so that later on, I don’t have to ask it myself. I do hope more people reply to this. lol
I am in Tarnished Coast and everyone has been really friendly and helpful. I’m usually on later at night in my time zone so that’s the group I’ve experienced most. The map chat cracks me up more often than not, and there always seems to be someone answering questions and walking people through things or running to help whenever someone needs it. It’s been a great experience so far.
I’m in the US, do I have to chose a US server though? I’m heavily considering Gunnar’s Hold.
No. You can pick an EU server. Just keep in mind the time differences between US and EU when thinking about the number of people online.
