Erm… So I paid £60 for the HoT Expansion with the understanding (albeit I misunderstood), that I would be given special access to BETA’s and Stress tests!

If you read it carefully it states “Weekends” but as we are usually left in the dark about Beta’s and stress tests I wasn’t expecting to find that I’ve spent my money on a “chance” to be included in these tests.

The ONLY reason I pre-purchased was to get access to all the BETA’s and Stress tests and now I find that I probably won’t get a chance to play them all.

I’m sick to death of all this crap. ANET sort yourselves out, if you had every intention of screwing us over once again, then the least you could have done is informed us before we gave you our money.

I’m in 2 minds about getting trading standards involved because this is BANG out of order. For all we know you can just put stress tests and Beta’s one any day of the week with a “special invite only” attached to it and can screw over all those who have pre-purchased because you stated “ah it’s weekends only… oh sorry did we not mention there will only be 2 of those before we launch the game. Please take this complimentary slap in the face for your loyalty!”

You misunderstood the prepurchase. It guaranteed access to beta weekends. This is neither a beta nor the weekend. Fault is on you, unfortunately. Anet was quite clear on the topic.

You didn’t spend money on a chance to be included. You spent money on guaranteed access to all beta weekend events, which is exactly what’s stated.

Completely separately from that you may (regardless of whether you spent money or not) have a chance to participate in other types of test at other times.

You are of course free to contact trading standards but I can tell you from past experience with virtually identical situations (except there the sentence was “2 for 1 on all marked items”) their investigation will go as far as realising the issue is you stopped reading in the middle of a sentence and then the issue will be dropped.

Edit: Didn’t realize OP was talking about the WvW test. OP, sorry, but that’s your fault for not reading the terms. It clearly states “all beta weekends”; nothing about stress tests. /edit

It is. This weekend is officially the first “Beta Weekend”, so anybody who pre-purchased will be able to play the Revenant.

OP, I suggest rereading the announcement about this weekend. Perhaps you will be less upset knowing that a probable majority of future betas will be “Beta Weekends”? If they have a large enough sample size of people who pre-purchased, they can just constantly run the Betas by them; the people who are actually going to play the expansion rather than those who will not or are still undecided.

It’s a +1 beta weekend, made ad hoc from what I get from announcment. The first full beta weekend will be announced in the future

Nice rant. Shame it’s for absolutly no reason other than you not understanding what you got for pre-purchasing. Which is guaranteed access to all beta weekend events, not stress tests, which have always been invitation only because of the target audience.

A chance? I never saw something that any prepurchasers would not have access to the beta weekends? Do you not have a character slot that says beta?
