Okay, so lets say that this long content drought “is” infact worth the length and time we have spent waiting for new world content, story content, role-play features like /roll, healthbar% on bosses and mobs and more…

It begs a simple question from me:

What exactly “is” being made?

Lets be blindly, blindly optimistic here and speculate what wonderous dreams are going to be forfilled in fools errand hopes.

The Wishlist:

- One, if not Two, new races being worked on for Expansion 2 while Season 3 is being made. (Largos is a must, Tengu or Skritt is fine as an added extra).
- At least 2 new specializations per class.
- A new PvE Campaign Mode: Daily Mini Stories that let you activly serve the pact by going around performing mini missions (repeatable) every day (randomised world solo content).
- A third WvW Borderlands “and” new ways to Siege Forts, using glider pads to launch people over walls, siege towers that can be built against them or siege ladders.
- Less, God-kitten , grinding, also, new ways to attain ascended weapons and armor via world content instead of just crafting/luck.
- Much Mantle, Such White, makes a GW1 fans Delight.
- Mursaat, Mursaaaaat.

….Something something I CBA comming up with any others.

I would be extremely surprised if the game ever sees new races. They seem clear in the vision not to include them and to be honest I agree. Some of the core races like Norn have suffered by becoming playable in my opinion and I find NPC races far more interesting than when they become playable and lose a lot of their flavour. Largos would never fit as a playable race the way they have developed the game, so if I am wrong about adding races, you might get Tengu since they are the closest fit.

Specialisations. We will get these with the next expac. It is too soon for more imo, although one mid season could in theory address the hero point imbalance – ie we currently have an excess.

A new campaign mode. The idea of Order or Pact related stories would be welcomed by me. I’ve seen it addressed a lot prior to HoT being announced and it would give the Orders desp needed relevance to the game.

I would like less grinding, but the options to less grinding are raid diffiuclty open world content, which rarely works or RNG from drops. They could use collections, but they still require grind or RNG. I’m not sure which option I prefer.

All the signs point to the White Mantle and Mursaat (or at least Lazarus) continuing to be involved in some way, whether as an adjunct to the living story or in part of the raids, so you’ll prob get your wish here.

Right now, my main wishlist is a significant chunk of story. Whilst the quality of writing was better, the direction and and length of HoT’s story baffles me. I cannot possibly understand how an expansion’s story was greenlighted to be a headlong charge through the jungle, bypassing so much interesting stuff. Expansions need to be bolstered by a huge, sweeping story as it’s backbone. They didn’t happen and it hurt the game badly. Season 3 has to address this unequivocably.

Following on from that, LS1 needs to be converted into a S2 style and released. It’s a lot of work, but it is hugely vital to the game. Right now, we have nothing to bridge the PS and LS2 which is confusing and offputting to those who like to play for the story. The longer this remains out of the game, the more damage to the game it does imo. The current cutscene simply doesn’t do anything at all to bridge the gap.

As for blind optimism;
- relevance to underwater again, including new skins and some skill reowrks
- some new maps before the expac
- something else which ive forgotten but will add in when i remember it

Dual pistols on mesmer (or every weapon available on every class)

Alt weapon set on Engi and Eles (but not scrappers or tempests)
No alt weapons on revs!

I know, “engi and eles don’t need alt weapon sets” but they do! Ele for instance has 4 attunements yes, but can only trait 3 (2 if you go for arcane or tempest), so if you’re not traiting all 4, most likely you rarely use them, which means you don’t exactly have 4 weapons in 1. Scrappers are op anyway, with their stealth/stuns and general annoyance, so they don’t need anything else, but vanilla engis do! Revs….why is it that kits and attuments are considered different “weapons”, but stances aren’t?

Thieves….delete entirely or give us auto deploy stealth traps with no CD or limit on the number you can place in wvw.

I expect LS3 will contain 25 min story, 12 glider skins, 4 BL weapon sets and 6 outfits, and possibly, very possibly, a gem store sale on instant repair canisters, in incremental releases over 9 months.
My wishlist for the next expansion is.. oh, let’s see.. no, nothing.
I fully expect the next expansion to contain 1 completely new fractal, a promise to reinstate the legendary team (don’t worry, they’ll never keep it), a complete remake of the trait system and scrapping of the mastery system (after all they did state that they intended to add to it, ie a clear death sentence). Oh right, and more glider skins!

In due time, all will serve the asura.

This so much, even if I had to pay an extra $20 for access to LWS1 content I would do so. That cutscene was really cool, but also extremely lacking. I like story, being able to play through LWS1 and get the actual story would be so kittening awesome to me! I’m hoping that alongside S3 we get the option to buy access to S1 content redone in an instance format.

I agree that Revenants should be limited to only 1 weapon set. They can freely switch between 2 sets of utility skills, so why should they also be allowed to switch between 2 weapon sets? But eles should also be limited to 1 weapon set. You said it yourself, they can only trait 3 attunements, they trait 2 if they take arcane or tempest, at absolute worst they only trait 1 attunement and take arcane an tempest. Best case though, 3 traited weapon sets. Standard, 2 traited weapon sets, absolute worst case is still 1 traited weapon set and 3 untraited weapon sets. They do not need a second weapon set due to always having access to 4 attunements.

Simple – They can swap between 2 utility sets, but those utility sets are fixed, and 60% of the skills on each set are absolutely useless most of the time. Now, if you had one weapon slot that could be fully customized like the utility bar on every other class, THEN they’d be comparable.

So you’re telling me that all other classes can put in 3 utility skills and an elite that are always useful? Limiting weapon sets on some classes is an attempt to balance how many skills each class can bring to any fight. And regardless of whether or not you think all your skills are useful, that doesn’t change the fact that with 2 weapon sets and 2 utility sets, Revenants have more skills available in fights than 6 of the other professions. He should be locked to 1 weapon set like Eles and Engineers are.

They extensively tested the Revenant – at first he WAS only one weapon set. But that was complete garbage in actual play. Also – Revenants only have 5 weapons available (Staff, Hammer, Sword, mace, and half an axe)

And yes, all other classes CAN put in 3 utility skills and an elite that are always useful, and can synergize far better than the Revenant utilities, even with rev utility swapping.

Oh! I like that, it would allow people a true choice on their play style. My main is a necro and I hate playing mele. Playing with a great sword makes me feel like I’m wearing ice skates on a basketball court. I’m not saying the Reaper’s GS is bad it just doesn’t fit how I like to play. So I get a new weapon and it’s not shiny.

The other thing I’d really like to see is a build save feature.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

My (very) shortened list:
- PvE/PvP skill splits
- Gliding puzzles
- More and relevant underwater content. I recon they think about a new mastery line too if it’s on the table. Streamswimming for faster movement, dolphineye for reduce the fog or whatever.
- More mastery points for central Tyria.
- More “random” content like the bounties in Current Event
- Achievements for helping rookies
- New Elite specializations. I like to see a paragon guardian with a spear

What exactly “is” being made?

1 new fractal, “bigger” story episodes with 2-3 months breaks between them (because of the pvp balance /o\) and some pvp maps. At least that’s what leaked interview says.

Pure blind optimism?
From most to least important(To ME, of course):

- An amazing LS3 story with 50 hours worth of content, with hard personall choices and persistent consequences (The choices from the majority of players became the official world standard after a couple of months).
- A real, PvE valid and truly impactul Elite Spec Mechanic for Scrapper.
- RP specific aid functions and tools, including “RP map preference checkbox” and Tons of New Emotes.
- Lore imbued, storyline coherent and properly animated/playable explanation for the Revenant timeline phenomena, the sudden development of gliding, and the concrete birth of every Elite Spec.
- Bigger (Visible!) weapons for Asura.
- Reworked Gyros without AI.
- Head and foot gear fixed to correctly match Asura and Charr anatomies.
- Fully reworked, gliding-allowing and megaserver fixed WvW.
- Voice customization for the playable character.
- Pets who don’t forget their names.
- Multiple medium armor sets without trenchcoats.
- Multiple light armor sets without buttcapes.
- New playable race: Steam Creatures, with a proper lore, PS line and coherent explanation.
- 2 new weapon types: Chains and Boomerangs.
- Improved aquatic combat and proper drowning. Breathers become relevant.
- How to dance vol 2 in the gemstore, and How to Legendarily Dance (with 10 new dances) obtainable through a long, hard and diverse quest.
- Raptor, Chak and Karka pets.
- New armor piece: Belts.
- Fun version of the final battle against Zaithan.
- Customizable Home Instance.
