Anyone any idea of what kind of changes this could be? I’m very curious what you guys come up with.

It might have something to do with:
- larger parties?
- showing all your guildmembers on the map?

These are some things I could come up with. Would be really nice IMO.

They are going to remove PvP and WvW. Only groups allowed and you must be in a maxed guild.
There are probably people in forums who believe this.

I would not like to see the removal of rally on defeating opponents, at least not for PvE. It can be very useful sometimes, although players don’t always know how to use it properly.

The other points sounds fair to me. It would make world exploration for a second time less boring and much faster.

other suggestions could be:
- introduce more skill combinations
- introduce a new competitive game, such as shooting range in DR. Or does that not count as friendly play?

Nevertheless I hope for something big as these announcements are saved for last.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave all world bosses specific times and removed main servers, having only overflows. All feature pack changes so far have been based on long term complaints and lack of players has been a common complaint for quite a while.

Other than that, maybe they finally fixed dungeon ownership, made combo fields less griefable and changed how contribution works to make it less exploitable.

Talking about dungeons, I hope they will remove the event next to the entrance of CoF, so that players don’t have to guest to other servers to enter the dungeon.

An ingame worldboss timer would also be great. One that people can toggle on and off when they want.

But this wouldn’t so much facilitate friendly play as much as it would facilitate exclusion and separation.

Don’t you just love it when someone is lying there, not attacking not doing anything, just expecting someone to run up and heal them. Still I like it as well, very nice last mechanic.

Or at the very least make it more solo-able.

This would be a great QoL feature.

Based on the hype vs delivery of the previous feature blogs, I’d say it’s something along the lines of:

Better word censorship
Party invite now comes with the word ‘please’
A person being revived automatically says ‘ty’
Oh and free trait resets of course

What I hope for:

1. Overhaul of how commander tags work. For instance, adding the ability to set tag to “guild” mode or group mode where only people in your guild or joined on you can see the pin. This would allow guild leaders to pin up in wvw without drawing the map to them.

2. More fixes to guilds. I really was hoping for upgrades and influence to be put into a common pool for all servers, but supposedly this is too hard for anet to do. Perhapes we will still get it!

3. Fix the overflow thing and allow people in parties and guilds to stick together. Maybe even allow large guilds to create their own private overflow

4. Fixes to Trading Post. For instance, can I please have the ability to filter armor by type? Pretty please?

No clue honestly… Have been wondering what it was all about since announcement

Some things that would be nice though:

Updated mail system:

  • Allow certain ranks of a guild to be able to mail everyone at once in the guild.
  • No spam lock if mailing mutual friend or guildmate

Better party system:

  • No auto kick from dungeon if creator leaves/changes character
  • Party/Guild only “commander” tag (for havoc groups/roaming in WvW)

It would allow friends to play together, something they can’t do now. It will facilitate Friendly play among actual friends, the current system is a system of separation and exclusion of friends/guildies in favor of randoms

Well, seeing as how they removed repair costs, the “Rez if you’re down, Waypoint if you’re dead” group got even more justification to be a bunch of jerks.

Maybe there will be a balance there like possibly treating effective event areas like dungeons and preventing dead players from waypointing until all players in the event are dead.

I still don’t get the issue with this.

Are you seriously telling me the jerks are the one the one who are expected to revive someone to lazy to run back themselves at teq or wurm, thus slowing the group down and putting the ressers at risk?

Oups i quite didn’t saw this thread first, well, here it goes the ones i hope and agree with:

I believe i will be disappointed but… My hopes are:
- Balance how rewarding play on all maps is at once, Resource Nods, Mat drops, mob difficulty, events XP/KARMA/GOLD reward, at this moment lvl 80 maps are the only ones where our time is better spent.
- Fix issues with Parties and Overflows, stop breaking parties apart!
- Fix the Issues with Zerg-Lag-Farm Trains on PvE Maps, it’s just madness, it’s by far friendly play, it’s laggy, it’s a war to try to hit the max mobs we can for the max loot, this game was never meant to this to happen, make it stop!
- Fix the Issues with Party Kickers at Dungeons / Fractals, they keep trying to sell spots for gold, make it easier to report the party owner that just kicked us.
- Larger Parties, why not?
- Always wanted to easily find all Guild Members on the map i am on.
- Make World Bosses take longer to kill, some of them are scale absurdly, others die so fast no speed boost help us reach them in time.
- As others suggested, world bosses as Teqqual and Wurm should be added to the LFG.
- More love to Guilds, they need some love. Major feature would be Guild Commanders that, only guild members can see the tag.
- Other Guild Feature, guild leader can mass mail all its members.

I can’t begin to speculate because the last few blogs have changed their titles once published and “A Solid Foundation” turned into PvP/PvE merges which has nothing to do with game core systems or teaching things to new players or housing, all of which were speculated on based on the title.

I do note they aren’t publishing it until April 2. Presumably that’s both to let them do something amusing on Monday and to avoid anyone claiming what they publish is a prank.

The dead person is actually a problem. They count against scaling making it harder for the people who are alive to win a fight. People that don’t rez people in a downed state are also an issue. But dead people need to waypoint so that they are part of the solution and not a burden on the team.

You’re right, facilitating friendly play could also mean smooth’n up any part of the game that could use some improvement. In that case it could still be everything that people complained about or asked for.

Yes to all of these!

Also maybe the ability to port a party or guild member to you once every hour or so? Would help with helping other players out.

Updated mail system:

  • Allow certain ranks of a guild to be able to mail everyone at once in the guild.
  • No spam lock if mailing mutual friend or guildmate

Agree with those two! And how about being able to mail yourself? My #1 method of emptying my inventory when out doing stuff with no time to spare is mailing stuff to my friend, and having him sending it back to me. Spam suppression is very annoying in those instances. But it would be even better if I could just mail stuff to myself to pick it up later. The system couldn’t be abused as an additional permanent storage since you can only have 10 mails stored and accessible at any given time.

I don’t think you will see ‘Mail items to self’, as the limit you describe isn’t really there. Unless they changed the Mail function so that you can’t mail more than 10 mails in a day, or something like that, and still that might not be enough of a limit. Just because you can only hold 10 mails now, at a time, doesn’t mean the mail doesn’t queue behind that limit. They can’t make a limit on mail (or they shouldn’t), as what if you want to purchase more than 10 things from the Gem Store. Or what if several people want to send you mail? Are you willing to lose that mail forever, because your 10 slots are used up? Guild Leaders would not be able to send mail to any of their members who were using up their 10 mail slots for storage, even if it was temporarily doing so, if there was no queue. So, I’m not sure how that ‘feature’ could be implemented without the possibility of ‘abuse’.

Larger parties would be great, especially for dungeons! Another nice, albeit minor thing would be to have a little note on each of your guild members indicating their last log-in time.

You do realize that events scale up not down. That dead player that you refuse to rez can just WP and go on their merry way while the event is still scaled for them to be there. The dead player at least tried to help the event and deserves the respect of the group to rez them. 10 players can rez a dead player extremely fast.

The ones you all should be upset at are the players that run through the area and scale up the event while not even lifting a finger to help with the event. I had it happen to me last night while doing an event. Had a group run right through the event then all a sudden I had double almost triple the enemies to deal with by myself.

I will ALWAYS stop to rez a dead player as the game intended. At least I don’t look like a jerk screaming for them to Way Point out and potentially shooting myself in the foot because they DO NOT have to come back once they way point out.
