Splitscreen play...
Co op play in gw2? On wich account is your friend going to play then?

On a second account obviously.
I’m thinking the best way to do it is to run the second gw2 instance on a second pc, and stream it to the main monitor via vnc. I have seen videos of people streaming 720p games with low enough latency to be playable. Anyone have any experience?
Isn’t it easier if your friend brings a laptop, or PC with second screen?

How would lugging a second pc and monitor around be easier? And it would defeat the purpose of couch coop. I only have the one big tv (and nice sound system) in the living room.
My friends bring there laptops all the time. Playing gw2 together while chilling on the couch. It’s still a form of co op + everyone plays on 1080p instead of low res split screen style.

I use my laptop, my bro uses the pc, and both our girlfriends bring their own laptops. We all sit in the same room and play together. Better than split screen, personally.
So no console gamers here huh? Or maybe you guys just don’t have a nice home theater setup. Splitscreen on one big tv is nice, I’m currently looking at UltraVNC, has anyone been able to get it to stream a game? Steam is doing it with their games now, it must be possible..

It works fine as long as your LAN is 100Mbit or higher. Don’t try it on WIFI. Also, make sure that the PC doing the streaming has enough processing power to handle both the game and the massive overhead of the VNC server without losing FPS.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.

Oh I’m sure my hardware is up to the task. Gigabit wired network and intel i7s will be driving both machines.
So you have experience running ultra VNC? Any settings I need to look for? I also heard about “TurboVNC”, is that better/worse for game streaming?
Two computers is better, but what OP suggest should be relatively easy to implement outside of GW2 app. Like attaching two GW2 exes to different usb keyboards, usb mouses, and virtual displays in the same screen. (Had/has X11 this display possibility? Wine of GNU/Linux?)
