Q:

Just wondering. Since all sylvari are evil now, will we be allowed to unbind items on player sylvari characters, so that we can delete them?

Or perhaps will there be a new mechanic were we’re allowed to keep our evil sylvari characters, and be allowed open world PvP when we see other players.

Not all sylvari are corrupted as proved with various individuals with strong minds. Your characters likely possess that same aspect.

Our sylvari have (or will) see the Eternal Alchemy and have been able to continue on without being corrupted or turned to madness. We’ll slough off the jungle dragon’s effect.

There is no way to answer that question. We don’t know which sylvari are affected by this, how Modramoth is affecting the sylvari, it could be that there is another pale tree who became corrupted and those are the only affected ones, and I’m sure many more ideas. I would assume your sylvari is safe, though in the future if you do play a sylvari, you might experience different in-game dialogue when talking to NPC’s, but no one will know until PAX or later…

As far as we know, Dream Sylvari are safe, and they are the majority of the Sylvari (including, of course, the PC).

Curious to see if they change the old open world zones for this.

Would seem a bit weird, though, for a new player to make a character, go out into Caledon, and see “sylvari are dragon minions! Kill them all!”

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

I pretty much stopped playing my two sylvari characters since scarlet, i’d pay a few hundred gems to change their race if it was offered as a one time offer.

It would be great if Anet introduced a mechanic that gave us the option of if we want a Dream or Nightmare sylvari. Playing as a bad guy would appeal to many players. And having open world PvP would be icing on that cake. I remember the tears back in the Diablo 1 days.

I deleted three level 80s a while ago. The remaining two have level 500 crafting, or I would have deleted them as well.

It would be nice to have a race change option.

Little bit oversensitive hey. Its just a game. I’m sure there will be a good and a bad faction (just like Blood, Iron and Ash legion charr against Flame). Would be nice if the option was given to be the one or other, but i dont see that work. So prepare to have some sort of super anti corruption magic (or medicine).
In my opinion, its a good thing theres some tension and conflict between the races. Gives a much more realistic story than they all hold hands Together and be hapilly ever after.
Furteron, its quite possible only the nightmare court (Spoiler: Did i see faolain in the End of the trailer impaling a human with some sort of weapon?) , maybe soundless and the other tree sylvaries will be affected.

I think that Modremoth targetted the pact sylvari when the shadow’s attack on the Pale Tree was unsuccessful. Having failed to kill the tree and corrupt all sylvari he target specific sylvari and was successful. This means that there shouldn’t really much of an increase in corruption as it was a one time thing unless the pale tree’s health deteriorates.
