Q:
Spool of silk weaving thread, why 100?
They used to be dirt cheap. Silk scraps otherwise used to be vendor trash. It’s only demand that has made them this expensive. I would be digitally rich if I had sold all the ones I acquired since day one, if I had them all and sold them at the TP today.
Perhaps it was a miscalculation, but not all their fault. They are actually quite EASY to get and not rare at all, but are expensive because of current demand and “gotta have it now” players (which is fine, BTW, but they have to pay the price for that perceived “need”.)
I actually can sympathize with your feelings about it, I just don’t see any easy solution for it other than being patient and/or accepting that light ascended gear will be theoretically more expensive to make.
Thick Leather is still vendor trash.
Would be nice if they had universal costs across the board. It makes sense. 3 raw → 1 refined → 50=ecto refined.
All the new armors use Cloth. I’m sure they did this so the Leatherworkers and Metalworkers could not get a big jump on the Soft Armor Makers when they added the new armor. You could make Mithrillium and Elonian Leather well before the patch that added Damask. And because of the cool downs it would be unfair to softies to wait a lot longer to get armor. Now everyone has about the same wait for Damask.
Either way, whatever the Market prices, the logic SHOULD be the game logic. If all other crafting promotions of the smae type are recquired 50, is kinda always unfair that one specific thing get 100. Also, mitrhil has 3 ways to acquire (Mining, opening bags, and salvaging), while silk and leather only have 2 ways to acquire.
I really hope for a re-design of the craft system. The way it is put, make no sense Talking in a game-design terms. And I am actually a game designer Fiy.
