So, I haven’t seen anyone bring this up. Maybe people just aren’t playing and don’t care? Or maybe they are too busy with the new raid, but when exactly can we expect to hear about the spring quarterly update?

We’re halfway through March and this is coming in April at the latest, otherwise we are looking at only three updates a year, which would not be quarterly….

So yeah, when do we hear ANY info bout this new update?

Since almost everyone knows we are gonna get big quarterly updates and we are already in spring we’ll prob get some news in around 2 weeks maybe?

Boy do i miss the biweekly updates, was fun looking forward to SOMETHING new coming soon. As long as they pump in some really good content in this quarterly plan i will be ok though.

Major Seasonal Game Updates

In 2016, we’ll begin rolling out major seasonal updates, and you can expect one of these big updates every three months or so. A few weeks before the launch of each seasonal game update, we’ll announce all the major additions that we’ll be delivering in the update. Over the course of the following weeks, we’ll reveal more specific details leading up to launch.

So when does this new major release schedule begin? Good news—today (January 12, 2016 ) I’m going to tell you all the big additions in our first major seasonal update: the Guild Wars 2 Winter 2016 update, which will be arriving on January 26! Over the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing more specific details on these new additions via blogs and videos, and we’ll show you some of these features live in action on our Guild Chat show as well.

So, approximately end of April time-frame for the seasonal update.. I’d think we should be getting some communication about it the very end of this month, beginning of next?

As with all things in development, details are subject to change as features get closer to release. Let’s hope that Mo won’t forget about Colin’s promise and will do this seasonal update blogpost. The last one was IMO a step in the right direction – letting us know what to expect.

They’re going to adjust a few % numbers on an ability here and there, change some of the crafting recipes for HoT items, and call it a “major” quarterly patch.

Don’t expect much, guys. LS3 is confirmed to be VERY far off, so that’s out of the question. WvW is so broken ANet doesn’t know what to do with it (there is a dev post mentioning they might even just remove the new map). And we just got a raid wing, so that’s out.

There will not be any new content in this patch. Just adjustments to existing things.

Personally I’ll be happy if they overhaul a bunch of the broken core traitlines and weapons. They’ve just been buffing damage numbers and power creeping things bigger and bigger for the last year or so of patches. How about actually fixing things?? Redoing junk abilities, instead of just buffing them?

Ranger Short Bow? Ranger Sword? Guardian Spirit Weapons? Underwater Revenant? Ventari Stance!? Warrior Physical Skills — hell, outdated Core Warrior Traits in general?

There are so many things in this game that need attention. ANet, pls.

So I don’t really know how it’s going to be a quarterly update and not just something they could have implemented in a patch before the end of April. Unless they’re just timing it that way so that it’s after Season 2 and they can decide to grace us with balance changes.

Who knows, maybe they have something surprising in store that they haven’t shared with us, like a new map or the unreleased areas of Dragon Stand or something else.

Doubtful.

Also, yes please to Ventari Stance. Does anyone actually use it? The tablet mechanism is just… terrible. At least for the miniscule amount of healing it does when you move it.

I’m pretty sure there’ll be fairly sweeping changes to the HoT maps, all of which is time consuming.

The HoT maps haven’t been well received over all. Some people do like them but not enough. Mike O’Brien said they want people who solo and people who play more casually to be able to play those maps and I don’t think that’s necessarily an easy fix.

From a content point of view, sure, it’s not more content. But if a bunch of people who didn’t access that content suddenly find it accessible, it’ll be new content for them.

As soon as the issue was first raised in Guild Chat by Colin, I pretty much stopped playing in new zones. In fact, I’ve take some time off from the game. This way when the changes hit, I’ll be in a position to enjoy them.

I suspect it will be the latter along with maybe adjusting scaling on certain events. Nice and all but hardly exciting (although it will, no doubt, be presented as if it were the second coming).

Personally, I haven’t logged in just over a week, the news that there would be no new non-raid PVE content until Q3 has turned me off the game. System changes are nice and all but HoT was far too light on launch day content and IMO ArenaNet are taking far too long to address that post launch.

The January patch was disappointing apart from the gliding so I’m just hanging around to see if the April patch brings any surprises but I’m not hopeful any more.

I’m almost 100% positive this is not the case, though it may be part of the solution. We’ll see in a month.

Well its used in Teq and Triple Trouble at least, though for the projectile destruction instead of the healing. But outside of that I don’t think I’ve seen it used at all.

Why isn’t there any information about the Q2-Update. Shouldn’t it arrive early april? In general, a more fluid stream of information for upcoming features, content and tools would be nice.

Althought, a better roadmap for the current year would be nice. As a heavy player i currently only have the raids to play an i am lacking for content. I understand, there can’t be always content, but currently i only know in Q3 will be smth. The 3rd Raid Wing before. But thats it

Accordng to the dev tracker, Mike O Brien said that April quarter devlopment had not been locked down yet, but was due to be in a couple of weeks.

Once that has happened, I would expect we will hear more
