Same issue. I suggest playing a different game.

The servers are a bit overloaded at the moment. If you’re getting the error “Connection errors detected – retrying” upon opening the launcher, let it sit in the background for a few minutes and it should start patching. If you get this happening mid-patch, close the launcher and re-open it, then give it some time to connect. Things should normalize again relatively soon.

Are you stuck while it is downloading? Or just stuck in general?

Try to close down the game, and launch it again and see if that helps. Sometimes a reboot of the computer might help.

You need to delete the bin folder (or remove SweetFX/GemFX). This is so frustrating. This game looks so washed out without them.

The game is now unplayable

Yeah, I did need to remove the bin folder that had gemfx to get into the game. If i put it back the game gets stuck on initializing screen. Well looks like im back to the blurry and crap gw2 graphics. Sigh

Lol. so i had this for a while earlier. Got tired of it and just started clicking on the thing randomly and at the area the log in and play buttons would normally be. Lo and behold, I get into the game. So it doesn’t really keep you from playing if your really need to play now, granted that the issues isn’t fixed, either.

I was having the same problem but than i started clicking around the white space on the gw window, it looks like the “Play” button is there but not visible, once i hit it by accident the game started, try clicking around it, at one point it even took me to the reset password page.

Guess I’ll be playing tomorrow when they get around to fixing the issue. Time to hit Subways for dinner.

To keep sweetfx working you have to:

1) move d3d9.dll and injector.ini from the bin folder into the main folder
2) Add the following to end of target for gw2 shortcut
-autologin -nopatchui -email YOUREMAIL -password YOURPASSWORD

I clicked randomly in the white area and eventually hit the invisible button and was able to play.

I thought “stack on initalizing screen” was some sort of new meta…I guess it is for today. Rather than 5 players in a corner, it’s all players at the login O_o
