You can’t stack mystic forge stones anymore cos new ones are not account bound anymore, but the old once are still.
Can’t stack experience scrolls cos who knows why.
If this is some strange way to say “buy more bank slots” it’s not working.

It looks like Mystic forge stones are tradeable now, but sadly only newly generated ones. The old ones in my bank are still account bound.

Try rezoning while holding the new (and old?) stones. I think the new ones will be converted and then you can stack them together.

it’s not working anymore… I even logged out (crashed actually) and still couldn’t stack.

It appears that the mystic forge stones you now get are tradeable.

I just hit 13k AP today and I got 10 more mystic forge stones my old 50 say account bound my new 10 are non-bound. I can’t stack them and they will take up two spaces in inventory and bank.

Please fix this asap.

Scratch my previous idea. They are now two kinds of stones, one account bound (the old ones) and a new one that you can buy and sell. They won’t stack together, as far as I can tell. So, use the old ones first, then anything new you get will all stack together.

Change maps with them in your inventory and they will be fixed.

I did…and it did not work.

Look carefully at the description. The new ones aren’t account bound.

I already said in my first post that the old are account bound and the new not, so that is nothing new to me.
The question is why the old are still account bound?

And what about the scrolls of experience?

I have two types of the purple level 20 boost items whose tooltips are identical but they won’t stack, I know I have two other types of item which don’t but right now can’t recall what they are.

All of the Mystic Forge Stones I’ve obtained since the most recent patch (11/17/2015) are unable to stack with older Mystic Forge Stones. There is also a difference in the text. One version says account bound. The other version does not.

Previously, for items of the same type that didn’t stack, I could put them into my inventory and then change maps, after which they were then able to stack. That method is not working for these.

There are now two different items with the same name:

• Old stones: account bound
• New stones: unbound, can be traded (i.e. sold or donated)

The “previously” situation was to address a bug where items with identical internal IDs didn’t stack; this is a new situation in which it’s a different item (and, in ANet’s infinite wisdom, uses the identical name and ID). Both work the same in mystic forge recipes though, which almost excuses the duplicate name. (Personally, I’d prefer if the renamed the old ones to “personal mystic forge stones” or something).

apparently this was a bug — fixed in today’s (Thu/PST) patch

Was this information released somewhere? I searched the patch notes and didn’t see anything about it.

According to tonight’s patch notes, this was indeed a bug. My question then is why was my post moved/merged out of the bug forum and into this thread? Seems like it should have stayed in the bug forum.

Probably because, at the time, the moderator thought (at the time) it was more appropriate. Since patch notes often leave out interesting details, it’s probably as hard for them (the mods) as for us to determine if something is a bug or a feature — at least, sometimes.

Is anyone having a problem purchasing mystic forge stones from Black Lion Trading Post. When I select them nothing happens.

They’ve most likely been disabled from purchase from the trading post since the stones being tradable was a bug.
