Has anyone else been relatively disappointed in the staff skins that have been offered in GW2?

I mean in all honesty I have tried to find staff skins that were remotely interesting and they just seem to have such little design added to them.

Even in comparison to GW1 which had some really good skins. For instance the Bone Dragon Staff

I just feel most if all the staves in GW2 look like a twig or a stick. Not much substance to them. Nothing to make them truly noteworthy. What happened to the staff that helped create much more noteworthy weapon skins?

See below for just a inkling of what is available in your old game alone. If I brought skins out from other games to compare it would be even more of an example of what can be done for the weapon.

Why can’t there be stalves with moving parts of like gears grinding on the end, or stalves that don’t look like stalves like a broomstick (I mean an actual weapon and not some holiday thing, no one can convince me they didn’t have witches), or stalves with glowing crystals at the end and not that same old weird starter skin i see everywhere even off exotics.

I feel the same way as you do with Staff and also hammers. They just lack that big bold look that they should have. Also Norn need to have the weapon scale on some of those larger because since they are much larger than humans all their weapons tend to feel smaller which is less impressive.

At this point I would consider buying a new skin. The options are terrible. I am not going to grind out a skin that looks like I am holding a long scepter.

I want something big that makes me feel like I am holding something of power. Not a fire place poker.

Either way, I 100% agree with OP and would like to see some staff love.

Yes. I am and I’ve complained about it for a couple months now.

Being an asura just makes it worse, most of them are twigs with hood ornaments glued on top.

Trust me I have looked at that list and for the most part many of them just don’t hold a candle to the GW1 lists.

I remember so many great staves from WoW and other games that would simply blow the doors on the twigs we get to hold here.

Bifrost is ok but it doesn’t hold a candle to the Bone Dragon Staff. That thing is a legend. A heart with blood flowing is amazing.. Bifrost is just a glittery stick (no offense).

I found this with a lot of weapons, the crafting ones are especially bad..

the Gnarled Walking Stick is decent enough.

not a fan of the GW weapons, one part of the game i disliked.

whoever designed those seems to have had a hand in GW2 weapons, but not all of them, so there are some i can tolerate if not like.

Staves are supposed to be the symbols of magic, it’s even used exclusively to cast spells.

i agree, staves should have more magical/mystical feel to them than they do now, even the Bifrost strikes me as unimpressive.

I would appreciate if my dainty little mesmer wearing lace and bows didn’t have to carry around a staff that looks like some ettin yanked a branch off a tree and smacked some shiny rock on the top. I don’t want to wield a club.
